  1. I don't think he's hurt. To be honest, I've lost some respect for Wade in this series. He does a lot of complaining to the refs, and he's refused to give Hinrich any credit for his defense. But the fact is, he doesn't play well against the Bulls, and I don't think it has to do with being injured. I think Kirk frustrates him.
  2. perhaps they should make a baby together.
  3. Spanish doesn't have the letter ?, so it has to be NO-SEE-ONI. That's right, he's argentinian. duh. For some reason, I always think of him as eastern euro.
  4. For clarification, because I continually hear it pronounced both ways: is it NO-SEE-ONI or NO-CHEE-ONI?
  5. I still can't believe he's a month away from pitching for us. I mean, I can barely even remember why. He got the flu? Then he felt a twinge or something? It's all so hazy. it's like nothing happened, but he's gone anyway.
  6. Perez, Rusch, and JJ, hands down. Way more versatile, and all three of them flat out know how to win.
  7. Souds like good baseball to me. Sincerely, Old People
  8. And while that's understandable, you'd like to see some guys try to work a BB at that point. Chances are we won't hit 8 solo shots. But a few walks, a few basehits, get into the bullpen...who knows. Regardless, Rusch is awful, and the one thing the Cubs have to learn is when these veteran guys bust out with a magical season, chances are they'll regress the next year and thus, don't deserve a longterm contract . (See Fassero, Gaetti, Rusch, Morandini, Borowski to a lesser degree, etc.)
  9. Working any other cases, Sherlock?
  10. .240/.349/.437/.786, Choi's career numbers Can you reasonably expect Clark to do much better? No, you can't. Especially when you realize 2005 Clark had "Huge Freaking Anomaly" written all over him.
  11. File that under "phrases you will only hear once in your life."
  12. Anyone know where you could find one of those on the net? not quite the same quote, but close: http://www.cafepress.com/buy/baseball/-/pv_design_prod/pg_1/p_storeid.42320617/pNo_42320617/id_10378034/opt_/fpt_/c_/hlv_t It's better when the mary line is last.
  13. That damon shirt is classic.
  14. I saw that, too. "A department store mannequin"? How many of those Ks were guys just jumping out of the box and swinging out of abject terror?
  15. they lose when they play us.
  16. haha, colt griffin. Is he out of baseball already?
  17. Same reason why there's very little chance that any other player is older than they say. Because there's ZERO evidence that he's older. None. Nada. Zip. Zilch. So, because there is currently no evidence (actually none, nada, zip, zilch); that means there's very little chance? Numerous criminal cases throughout the country remain unsolved due to little or no evidence, yet the crimes were still commited. Crazy, huh? I think I'm getting this sarcastic condescending thing down too. Exactly what evidence could there be beyond the possibility of poorly forged documents? Are we going to do carbon dating? Pujols actually went to HS in the US. Most of the age-lying issues have come with players signed through Latin AMerican camps or the like. It's pretty unlikely Pujols was a 21-year-old sophomore in HS.
  18. I'm inclined to agree w/ Southside on Wuertz. Good stuff, too inconsistent, and generally overvalued here. If you can help the team, you deal him.
  19. I have the same feelings whenever Angel Hernandez is anywhere on the field: especially behind the plate. Steve McMichael might wanna have speaks about that. fixed
  20. The young pitchers look to be pretty good. We're actually winning in Wrigley this year.
  21. That's probably Dusty's worst idea of '06.
