  1. Then they should've shelved Woody immediately last year instead of letting him pitch in the pen. That is one of the many idiot Cub moves I'll never forgive/forget.
  2. I strongly DISAGREE with your comments about Guzman. You do understand that he has only had 3 starts at the major league level? Yup...just 3. In all 3 starts, he showed excellent stuff, but a lack of command. Since he has been known for his command throughout his minor league career, most observers feel his command will return shortly...that it is shaky due to the fact he hasn't pitched many innings since recovering from surgery. Guzman's first 3 starts were roughly the same as Marshall's first three starts. What if Marshall had been written off after his first 3 starts? Don't believe me: Marshall Start 1: 4.1 IP, 4 Hits, 4 ER, 1 BB, 2 k's Start 2: 5 IP, 5 hits, 4 ER, 1 BB, 2 k's Start 3: 5 IP, 2 hits, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 k's TOTAL: 14.1 IP, 11 hits, 10 ER, 5 BB, 8 k's Guzman Start 1: 5 IP, 6 hits, 3 ER, 4 BB, 5 k's Start 2: 5.2 IP, 6 hits, 4 ER, 3 BB, 7 k's Start 3: 4.1 IP, 5 hits, 5 ER, 4 BB, 4 k's TOTAL: 15 IP, 15 hits, 12 ER, 11 BB, 16 k's So Guzman allowed 2 more ER, while going deeper into games. And at least 2 of those runs scored AFTER he left the game. He struck out twice the number of batters as Sean (good stuff!), totally more than a k an inning, but he also walked twice the number of batters (shaky control). Once Guz finds more consistant control (which will come with more innings pitched), he is going to be VERY good. good post
  3. I don't know if "going Leyland" on the players would help them perform better, but it would make me feel better because it's exactly what I want to say to them. The problem, unfortunately, isn't effort. It's quality of personnel and the use of the personnel. One of those things is our newly extended GM's fault. The other is the manager's.
  4. second batter, top of the 1st? Thems some fast drinkers.
  5. Is there anyone good projected for next year's draft? Is it possible to draft a new GM?
  6. I'm always amazed by how little credit Jordan's "supporting cast" gets for the bulls' titles.
  7. I'm not sold on O'Bryant, though maybe 16 is the right slot for him. Where is he projected? That high?
  8. Who said it's only since DLee went down? And who said it was unspoken?
  9. Ready for what? Antibiotics? A shoulder massage? Some Immodium AD?
  10. Gotta agree with ya. Wade is a good actor. It's official, I don't like anybody that plays on the Heat team now. It was a good run for the Bulls. Hopefully Pax will make the right moves and we can make it out of the 1st round. Yeah, it seemed like Wade really enjoyed his WIllis Reed move from game 1 (When he simply had cramps from trying to outrun HInrich all game), so he tried to recreate it again in games 5 &6. And could someone tell me more about this fingerpoint ndistops is talking about. I missed the end, and I'm in the mood to be angry with d wade.
  11. I think the mere title of the thread sent him into a one-man orgy.
  12. Respectfully, it's not Hendry's fault at all. Fact is - it's no one's fault. If your wife slams your finger in the car door, it just sucks, and if you yelled at your wife, you'd look like an $#@, wouldn't you? Injuries suck, don't blame Prior, don't blame Hendry. If anything, just hate the curse. Huh? I don't think your analogy makes sense. I'm not blaming Hendry for Prior/Wood's injuries. I'm blaming Hendry for repeatedly building a team who's success is based on the health of two pitchers who can't stay healthy. It would be one thing if they were perennial horses. But Wood and, to a lesser degree Prior, are proving to be pretty fragile.
  13. Sam-my, Sam-my! He could also be brought in as a pinch-runner for Jacque in key situations.
  14. Prior has been a huge disappointment, as far as I'm concerned. Yes, he's effective when he throws, but this is three straight seasons he's started the season on the DL. I understand he doesn't want to be injured, but the fact is, he is, and his limitless talent isn't doing us much good throwing 20-pitch side-sessions for the first two months of every season. However, it's probably Hendry with whom I should be most angry. He keeps on putting all his eggs in the pitching basket, when two key parts of the rotation haven't shown the ability to consistently answer the bell. Maybe it's time to reassess your plan, Jimbo.
  15. It's interesting what a "let them all in" playoff philosophy will change how fans look at their teams. I don't see how any Bulls fan could be happy with this team finishing .500 and losing in the first round, and failing to take any sort of step forward after last season. In reality, making the playoffs isn't an accomplishment in either the NHL or NBA. After the curry trade, I didn't expect a step forward. As a result, I am satisfied, to a degree, with the season. I still think they underacheived, but only slightly, and they seemed to figure something out at the end of the season. As for last night's game, we had no business losing it, and that collapse by Kirk, Ben, and Deng will likely cost us a shot at advancing. Deng in particular has been the most disappointing. Talk about a total post-season disappearing act.
  16. Hinrich has been awful tonight. It's a shame, too. If either he or Gordon show up, we probably win this game.
  17. this game has gotten ugly
  18. But the wardrobe malfunction saves us. And we didn't even have to see Kenny's boob!
  19. Now we get to hear Barkely talk exclusively about how good the Heat is, how badly Shaq is getting jobbed, and how weak the bulls are.
  20. Are those just rattles? that's what it sounds like, right? Or maybe these: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/202.jpg Regardless, they're lame. What's next, handing out kazoos?
  21. one more complaint--artificial noise-makers are lame. Now, it would be nice if we could hit some shots.
  22. It's so irritating that you know, prior to a game, precisely who's going to get the calls. All you had to do was see the box score and read the heat conmplaints to know the Bulls would be reffed very haard tonight. I can't think of another game where post game conferences affect reffing so much. edit--wrong word
  23. No thanks. Both of them hate the Cubs now, and that's fine, as I don't care much for them, either. One of the worst parts of the '03 playoffs was Brenneman's barely suppressed glee at the cubs implosion. And I've met stone, by the way. He was very nice to me.
  24. chip/stone>len/bob primarily because stone is so good. Len/stone could be excellent, though. Len is deceptively amusing, and I bet that would really come out if he were teamed with Stone.
  25. Should I be worried about Hill's curveball in Arizona? How did he pitch during ST?
