  1. Is McLaughlin the guy in the Hot Shots sports bar commercials? Because that guy bugs the crap out of me.
  2. At Zoe Pan-Asia in the CWE? I'll be your friendly bartender. But it's not a sports environment, if that's what you're looking for.
  3. My guess is he'd want to go in as a Brave, anyway. i have no other reason to think that, other than he spent the prime years of his career there, had a lot of success, and probably has a ton of fond memories.
  4. I have seen nothing from Thomas to indicate he'll be more than a defender/rebounder in the NBA. We need a big man who can take pressure off the guards.
  5. Dear Bulls, Please do not draft Tyrus Thomas, a shorter version of me. Sincerely, Tyson Chandler
  6. The Brewers did not sweep the Cards in any series last year. And why would the Cubs have to keep it up especially against St. Louis? Your theoretical Milwaukee point seems to be that you have to beat everybody, so why would we have to beat St. Louis consistently(like we did last year) You're right. It was 2004 that the Brewers took 3 of the first 4 from the Cardinals and St. Louis started 1-3. So there was no sweep...they just took 3 of 4 from St. Louis. But that doesn't really change my point too much. My point, in a nutshell, was that for this sweep to mean a lot, the Cubs need to keep winning, against everyone. (and specifically against St. Louis since they are favored to win the division) Milwaukee got off to a nice start in 2004 against St. Louis, but went on to finish dead last, 31 1/2 games behind the team they took 3 of 4 from to start the year. Their 3 of 4 from St. Louis to start the season turned out to be a non-factor. I'll say the same thing about the Cubs early season sweep if they finish 20 games out of first again this year. way to go out on a limb.
  7. it would be a shame to lose the cubs/stros, cards/stros rivalry.
  8. mlb.com's gameday gracias, sir
  9. Can someone refresh my memory as to the best gamecast out there?
  10. Good post; can't disagree with much you said. good pics, too. Hope you had fun. By the way, it's nice to see a wide array of t-shirts in Cubbie green.
  11. gotta hang out at the gaming boards. . Or SomethingAwful  ???? It's like you two are speaking a different language.
  12. I'm straight gamecasting it, which is only marginally better than just sitting in my apartment and guessing what's happening.
  13. fap fap? Never heard that one before.
  14. How can anyone ask this question seriously? Cabrera is the next big superstar of this league. Actually, with the numbers he has put up in his first 2.5 years, he already is one at the young age of 22. How do you know that Murton isn't going to be a superstar as well? As for Cabrera being 22, we have seen with Latin American players that what they claim their age to be isn't always true (re: Rafael Furcal). Murton is only 24, 25 in October and Cabrera is about to turn 23. There's not really much of a comparison between the two players. Cabrera is already vastly superior. If you have a chance to get him, do it.
  15. yeah, she's cute, but she definitely doesn't deserve all the hype.
  16. What's funny about it to me is it sounded like Dusty was doing a parody of himself. Whenever people imitate Dusty here, you can bet they'll use some obscure/semi-obsucre fishing reference. Then, lo and behold, Dusty proves the cliché right. Do I think it's dumb? Not really, though there have been times when his message was really lost due to Dustiness. I just think it's bizarre. other coaches would just say, "now that he's got the monkey off his back, blah blah blah." Dusty was more original (and, IMO, more strange and goofy.) It was one of those, "There's Dusty being crazy old Dusty" moments.
  17. I heard them Boo LaRussa for taking Mulder out of the game, but i don't remember anything more than that.
  18. I saw that last night. I think he's just trying to sound silly now.
  19. for the fourth straight day.
  20. :-s  Where'd you find that quote?
  21. Although we have to assume Carp goes longer if it wasn't his second start of the season, 1 degree out, and he had back issues prior to the start.
