great game and game plan by Mizzou. Defintely a better team than I thought. KU, as usual, looked alarmingly inconsistent. I want to have Sherron Collins's babies.

KU looked atrocious in an OT win at ISU. God, I hate playing there.

the big XII is gonna get hammered in that next year. I honestly don't see one comfortable win for us.

Duke does not have the athletes to compete with most of the good teams. I, for one, am loving it.

KU looked very sharp, but OSU was overrated at #10. Especially with such a thin bench, I see OSU fading as the season progresses.

Reports out of Manhatten. KS say K-State's freshman star Bill Walker tore his ACL yesterday. Terrible news for K-State, the Big XII, and Bill Walker if true. He's a high-flyer who relies on athleticism, and some guys never recover from that.

I just want to give Seth mad props for those predictions. The ND blowout wasn't a surprise, so I can't give you too much love, Vance, but Seth was alarmingly prescient. It's like Nostradumus and Edgar Cayce had a baby. Kudos, dude.

675 miles in 13 hours. Northern Indiana to Virginia You guys are a couple of nancies. Granted, it was 2 months ago, but I drove from StL to LA in 36 hours w/o sleep. (I did about 75% of the driving and couldn't sleep when it was my turn to be the passenger.) You're all nancies. STL to LA should take you at maximum 25-28 hours of driving time, maybe 30 with fuel and food stops. The most driving I have done recently was Iowa City to Taos, about 1000 miles in just over 15 hours. I had an 88 Camry towing a UHaul. Trust me, we were going top speed. We only stopped for food and gas -

Very true. But wtf happened to Helton's power last year? He clearly took steroids but somehow gets away with it Let's avoid Salem witch trials, please. As you may have read in my other post, Helton had a scary stomach condition. For awhile, it looked like he was deathly ill and possibly finished as a ballplayer. To say that steroids was the issue proves one's ignorance, as well as one's willingness to jump to an inaccurate conclusion. Pretty sure he was being sarcastic. OT - I'm here in Denver visiting/meeting my girlfriend's family and can't get out of here until Tuesday, which sucks. But I have to say, this city is beautiful. Haven't seen much of downtown besides a couple of bars last night. Some place named Opal is hands-down the most hilarious bar I've been to - and that counts townie southern Indiana bars. It's like a trendy-but-feels-like-a-cocaine-scene bar with a collection of bad characters from a really crappy movie, my favorites last night being the drugged-out asian guy all in white wearing a low hat with a cohort all in black, ski cap to boot, who would disappear whenever the other guy said something to him and mysteriously reappear 5 minutes later. Very weird scene. Not worth the saki. Hope you enjoyed the rant. you from So. Indiana? where?

This is one of the best mental images of baseball I've had all offseason. Wrigley during this would rival Dodger Stadium in Gagné's heyday. No Metallica/AC-DC theme song needed, just the place going nuts. I believe Kerry is on record as being a big metalhead. So his theme music should be....?? ...played by Sammy's boombox. Think how fired up Woody would get.
