  1. the gracie hate stems from the fact he's a giant douche.
  2. If by "shake up" you mean "lock Eyre in the broom closet," I agree.
  3. that certainly mitigates it some, though the opening half--"He got in trouble, he always gets in trouble"--still isn't the coolest thing to say. Like I said originally, I doubt he intended to sound like an A-hole, but he ended up doing it anyway.
  4. if i'm taking it out of context, it was because there was no context provided. it was the espn recap. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=270421116
  5. He has been in the past. He wasn't in 2006, but so far he has a 1.65 G/F ratio, which means that so far he's regaining that status as a ground ball pitcher. hopefully the wrigley summer won't hurt him too much if he can keep that up.
  6. He probably didn't mean to sound like a jerk RE his former teammate, but he kind of does.
  7. i thought Marquis was more of a gb pitcher. Is that accurate?
  8. any concerns about marquis throwing 120 pitches this early in the season?
  9. you obviously haven't seen the cover of this month's muscle & fitness.
  10. I feel like he goes through a spell like this every year. It's never prolonged, and it looks worse this year because it's out of the gate. I'm pretty sure Albert will hit .330 with about 40+ bombs this year, despite the slow start.
  11. posts like this make jr one of my favorite posters. awesome.
  12. rush still undecided.
  13. most of the illini fans i know say Frankie's mediocre career was bill self's fault. but most them think Islamic terrorism is bill self's fault, too.
  14. That's not surprising. I know Wright consistently said he'd return, but he's likely to be a top 5 or 6 pick. Wright is a very skilled and athletic guy for his size. Rush is likely to leave, too. Kansas was likely to start preseason #1 or 2, but if they lose both Wright and Rush that's a lot to replace. They'll likely still be very good, probably top-10 good, but not one of the national favorites. if we keep rush, we still have a chance. w/o him, we're top 10 at best.
  15. Still loaded with Rush, Chalmers, and Collins. No doubt, but Wright is easily the most frightening matchup. i think we'd be better off w/o wright than rush. but i think wright would be better served staying more than rush. hard to blame wright for leaving if he does. he can finish that degree whenever.
  16. i didn't realize it was a photoshop until you said something.
  17. Amen. And sorry about the loss, raisin. I was rooting for you guys.
  18. I'm not sure whether to laugh at him or feel sorry for him. He must rue the day he first came into contact with Scott Boras. Wasn't Boras the second agent that led him astray? yes, ithe real culprit was a guy who's initials are T.T., i believe. I can't think of his name. Tony Tanzer? Something like that. Regardless, Harrington could've ignored him and just taken the money that first year. Lots of blame to go around on that one. Kind of a sad story.
  19. I say eff it, bring up Donnie Veal. 8-)
  20. Al reports are that KU signee Cole Aldrich has abused him the first 2 days. http://draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1954 Day 1 Breakdown Day 2 Breakdown Sounds like we could've used Cole last Sunday.
  21. Hansbrough will be worse than McRoberts. i agree
  22. This has probably been discussed elsewhere, but I can't find it. I was reading tcr, and they posted player side-by-side stats projections for the Cubs starters from 4 different sources: (tht, BP, baseball think factory, and the guy's smart buddy.) Link I was pretty disturbed by D-Lee's projections. I know he's coming off an injury, but if he posts #s like that, do we have any chance at the postseason?
  23. give me break. we lost to last year's runner up (who should have been a 1 seed) in their own backyard. I'd hardly put the blame on Self. I'm so sick of bitter illini fans talking smack about Self's coaching. We lost to a great team. At least we didn't give up a huge lead in the waning minutes to lose to a mediocre VT squad. Have fun with your mid-major roster in the big ten. I'll stick with Self.
  24. yeah, and they won't get a home game against that 1 seed.
  25. Congrats, Raisin. beat FLa, plz.
