  1. crap, mizzou td, 27-17
  2. mizzou's 75 yrd td was called back, though i don't know why (gamecast). KU responds w/ a td. 20-17 Mizzou. Our pass defense has to wake up, though. Still hasn't shown any sign of being capable of stopping daniels.
  3. ku gives up another 75 yrd td.
  4. just woke up. down 13 to Mizzou in the 2nd. thought we'd make a better game of it. looks like we've already given up 271 yards of passing. ridiculous.
  5. well, ku vs. Fla tomorrow. KU has looked absolutely awful in every game except its first, and FLA looks in mideason form. I can't say I'm confident, though I know we have the talent to beat them. But if we come out tomorrow like we have our last 3 games, we'll lose by 30.
  6. in small doses.
  7. Hopefully KU beats them. While we do have our starting center back (kind of), I wouldn't bet on it. UF is clicking, and we're playing like garbage right now.
  8. Lugo is a much larger upgrade over Izturis than guys like Meche, Batista, and Marquis would be over Guzman/Marshall/Mateo/Marmol. Why wouldn't we want to spend the money where it would help us most? Yes but the dumb butts (JH and Mcdunnough) want him for CF as far as we've all heard. And he's gonna cost 4 years $32 million. Do you really want to give THAT much to Lugo? If the Cubs are to spend that type of money over 3-4 years I'd rather they got an impact pitcher that could really boister the pitching staff. Like Schmidt or Westbrook (yes I know he must sign an extension) is westbrook really an impact pitcher? He is when he is replacing a AA pitcher, which is basically what he will be doing for the Cubs. He is no ace, though. That doesn't qualify as an impact starter to me. There were three on the market--Schmidt, Zito, and Mats. Westbrook might be a nice addition, but there are dozens of guys like him in MLB.
  9. they will be SCARY come tourney time. I could easily see them in the FF.

  11. That sucks, though I'm still at a loss as to how that game was close. ISU has been bad this year.
  12. are we still expected to enter the bidding?
  13. If that happens, I'm gonna need a new pair of pants. I'm already on my second pair tonight. Vance and I are agreeing on way too much these days. If Jim lands Schmidt I might even be able to forgive the DeRosa signing. After the Soriano signing, agents will be lining up at Jim's table like strippers do at the drunk old man who is tipping Jacksons. leave my uncle out of this.
  14. very tough call. Probably cats. They're equally affectionate (mine are), but cats require less hands on care.
  15. well if you're charting whining, Kobe should get one every time.
  16. Oh snap. It'll come down to who plays better--KU's awful pass defense or Mizzou's awful run defense. If Cornish (Big XII leading rusher) romps for 160+ and controls the game, we'll win. If Chase is throwing bombs all over the field, Mizzou wins. We're hot right now. Should be a good game. Hopefully Mangino owns Pinkel as much as I think he does.
  17. In the nobody cares dept., KU beat rival KSU ([nelsonfromthesimpsons]A-HA![/nelsonfromthesimpsons]). If they beat Mizzou next week, they'll go to a bowl.
  18. I'm not a psychic, but I doubt the mods approve of board members calling Hendry or anyone else "Fatass". Plus you refer to 2 different people as Fatass in the same post. Quite confusing. It's like having 2 brothers named Darryl. is that a newheart reference?
  19. You employed now? Irish Times? No. Until I can land something better, I got a job at one of the nation's leading discount booksellers. Post-graduate degree, 31 years old...someone just effing shoot me. Please. Today I had to find a book called "Angelina Jolie--Angel from Above" for a 14-year-old Armenian boy. It's depressing, being paid to locate someone's spank mag. And there wasn't even a second copy for me to buy for the end of my shift. I think I died a little bit inside today.
  20. i'll say it agin. ugh.
  21. ugh. let's get 'em out early, I guess. not what i wanted to see after a 9 hour shift.
  22. Hendry has stated he was looking at the international market this year. Yeah, but specific reports showed interest in pitchers, not Iwamura.
  23. I'm really surprised at DePaul's poor play. They have some players. Oh well. I was hoping that game would be tough since the Big 12 is so weak, but two of KU's noncon games--DePaul and BC--have already lost in embarrassing fashion. On the plus side, NAU, who we waxed pretty badly, took down Arizona St. in their next game. I'm assuming ASU is a Pac 10 bottom feeder.
  24. Ummm... SS is probably our biggest hole of all. I have much more faith in Pie, Pagan, and Theriot to hit like league average CF, RF, and 2B men... respectively, than I have in Izturis to hit like a league average SS. Izturis isn't on this team to hit. He's there to prevent runs, which he is phenomenal at. Both offensively and defensively.
  25. That's right, nobody likes 40 40 guys. we need walks. LOL In five years Alph will be 35 plus change. I agree with IMB. To be fair, Soriano is probably one of the most athletic, well conditioned guys in the game. It's not like we're talking about some unathletic guy who's always out of shape. Conversely, his loopy swing isn't likely to age well with declining bat speed. If we don't get drew, what options do we have to improve this team though? Trade market. A-Rod, Burrell, etc. I guess I'm not convinced we have the trading pieces necessary in a competitive trade market. Who knows, though. ARod miight want to dictate where he goes, and Burrell's contract is cumbersome.
