  1. Soto isn't leaving NY (Mets or Yankees, but Yankees) unless a team like the Cubs makes a Corleone offer that we know the Ricketts will have difficulty approving. I suppose stranger things have happened.
  2. A - but with a closer not Jansen or Roberts.
  3. Yes, a full season of Parades wil help out a lot from the production they got at 3rd + defense. Maybe mediocre wins?
  4. I would expect the same results if not worse. They've wasted good to great years by Imanaga and JaMo. Jed got them stuck in 2nd gear and there they shall remain. They have an incredibly inefficient team that is mediocre and people are crowing that Swanson finally decided to show up after the season is over, metaphorically. Besides PCA who is likely to get better? Maybe Busch and Amaya. Hey, let's get to 88 wins and see what happens.
  5. It would be unwise but expected for the Cubs to run this same team back out next year hoping for good health and some good breaks looking to be competitive until the trade deadline and see what is available. Obviously not the EXACT some team for the pedantic ones.
  6. The lack of a running game contributed.
  7. I would imagine one of the reasons is that they are pricing out seats for corporate owners/buyers. They are marketing the game to businesses to use as perks/write-offs/etc.
  8. I voted pitching, but it's both. They are stuck and stuck worse if Bellinger opts-in.
  9. Soto is not leaving NY. And doubly so if they win the WS this year. Even dumb-ass Hal Steinbrenner knows that. They are going to make him the highest-paid player in baseball.
  10. I agree. Wisdom is the guy to DFA. Its highly doubtful he gets tendered a contract.
  11. Yes and yes and yes. Give him stuff to do over the winter and to think about even if it's just watching how MLB guys establish a routine. He should have been up on Sept. 1, DHing and getting reps in RF.
  12. IMO, Dan was pissed that someone from Barstool was on his station because they are a collection of douchebags. He should have made that his argument instead of finding a pretext. I'd be pissed at management, but probably would not make an issue on the air.
  13. I think the offensive side of the ball is down league wide. It's kind of like the pitchers being ahead of the hitters at the start of the baseball season. Teams are not playing the preseason with starters (for good reason, I guess) and are not in sync. But I also think there is a Bears-specific issue as well. A confluence of things 1) defensive head coach who has shown nothing up to this point 2) A new OC 3) a GM who refuses to build an OL and 4) nagging injuries. Caleb has shown he has the tools. It's too soon in the season to make any judgments about long-term prognosis, but they must keep improving as a group. They have a defense that is good enough to win games.
  14. https://www.statista.com/statistics/829566/chicago-cubs-operating-income/
  15. The OL looked, fat, sloppy, and slow. Caleb has the tools, he just needs protection and seasoning.
  16. Where are they going to find playing time for these guys, barring injuries? They have a bunch of good not great guys in Chicago right now and need to replace them with a bunch of good not great cheap labor so Jed can pay premium price for good not great free agents. The only guy with potential for greatness is the guy seemingly everyone wants to trade.
  17. Would anyone flip Eberflus for Drabol?
  18. Stroud is good.
  19. Williams looks great to start the game
  20. That pass was on time
  21. That kick would have been good from 70 yards
  22. Two holds on that running play
  23. Anyone taking the underdog?
  24. I’m pretty sure that JD has negotiated his work schedule to minimize travel and have vacation. It’s not the same as it was. i hate the Sinclair/Ricketts as much as the next guy, but I don’t think they are the problem. It would be better if they had a standard fill in that wasn’t Suttcliffe. Gerardi is just a gumba jock. Sutt is on an entire other level of awful. He tries too hard to be a nice guy.
