  1. Tua gonna be eating jello through a straw before he’s 50. He should retire like tomorrow.
  2. The Biscuits are in the playoffs for the 9th year in a row. I hope the Smokmies beat the Barrons. I'd love to watch them in the championship series.
  3. I do it by what is easiest for me to spell
  4. If the same things that Raw pointed out are happening again this week, it's time to fire up the hot seat on Eberflus.
  5. The owners will never agree to a cap with a floor and that is equitable to players like the NFL and NBA have. Not in a million years.
  6. A salary cap benefits the owners. All these owners can pay whatever they want to pay for whoever they want. Some choose not to do that. If they cannot they should get out of the sport. Without going too far out of territory- it's socialism for the owners and capitalism for the players—a microcosm of the USofA.
  7. I think it's between Counsell and the front office. There was an article in The Athletic about a game and Sharma put in a paragraph about Counsell being in "observational mode" for much of the year and hinting at changes in staff. But it very likely could be what Goony was talking about with the scouts, Jed and Kartonvitz (sp?).
  8. The things I like about Busch are his defense and his bat to ball skills. The things I don't like are his age and his slugging. If you can find a better fit, do it. He's not that special. The main thing he has going for him is his contract. That should not stop the team from improving the position if they can. The team needs slugging.
  9. It's genius, Jerry, genius!
  10. Rocker called up
  11. it doesn't bother me.
  12. There are about 30 posts in a row moaning about the Bears, same story different day in that thread. It's ok, people can fan the way they want to fan. It's so melodramatic. It doesn't change the fact that the rookie laid an egg, but it's also over the top. Some of it is visceral emotion.
  13. This can't be a financial decision, Can it? I mean those guys probably make the concessions profit from the 1st to the 5th inning of a random Wrigley game.
  14. Yes, I was making a bad joke out of two guys names who make a third guy's name.
  15. I bet that is as close to the truth as we will ever get.
  16. Cam Sanders was promoted?
  17. Anytime things don't go as planned I think these stories kind of write themselves. I'd guess the kids and/or papa isn't happy with the return on investment in terms of winning. I can't imagine Hawkins and Jed being the issue, but who knows? Jed may be upset at the spending limits or maybe they told him Soto is out of the question. Just listening to Tom and looking at his face makes me want to punch him. I don't know how Jed or Theo put up with him. I think they need to fire the trainers and conditioning people immediately and find new and better ones.
  18. So how much was Caleb's issue and how much was the line a sieve?
  19. LOL, Russell Wilson was inactive yesterday but still dressed in full pads.
  20. I'd bet a fair amount of money that Suttcliffe will be doing color for these games. So no one will miss anything of value.
  21. That's the biggest issue with the trade proposals. The guys have to be available. Overwhelming a team with good not great young talent isn't going to get it done.
  22. Weee. I will be asleep before it starts.
  23. They probably made a couple mill with Pearl Jam last week. The Cubs drew 120k this weekend. Wrigley is a gold mine.
