    Call me crazy But McCarthy has the makings of a strong pro QB. Maybe not a deep ball threat, but he makes really good decisions.

    Firmly on the sign Nola team. I’d like them to trade for a good young pitcher too. Either someone ready or on a roster. I’m looking at you Seattle. i really think if the sign Bellinger they should trade PCA for the best young pitcher they can find. I don’t think they are going to reel in Bellinger though.

    Alabama offensive line is manhandling LSU at the LOS. Alabama is a much better team, but LSU’s QB is the best player on the field.

    Should have been linemen down field on GA. They had a guard and a tackle 10 yards beyond the LOS.

    Not the first year, but the rest of them. This is the NFL and he had a near-unprecedented amount of money and draft picks. it doesn't take five years to get better. I suppose the fact that Fields was/is awful is not his fault either. But he's created situations where he's not allocating money and draft picks well. The team is awful and it's not round up,.

    Jorge opted out of his contract. Wil be interested to see what he gets. He was making $12M/year.

    According to rumor (so take it as you will) the Michigan dude was on the Central Michigan sideline when they played MSU. So this is going to be very bad not just for Michigan. Outside of MHJr this is as weak an OSU team has looked in long time. At least since before Tressel.

    Good thing, BN had something out that said the Cubs were looking at the former but not the latter.

    That's a given. I don't know what happened at the beginning of the season when he actually looked like a starter, but it would be nice if he could do that again for a full season as a swingman.

    They better run the horsefeathers table just to show how little it meant to do the stupid horsefeathers they were doing.

    And away we go! Poles is a failure for myriad reasons.

    That's not the reason. I'm not sure if you're being intentionally obtuse, but the reason it is bad is because Poles didn't address the need in the draft, twice! Now they've overpaid and may have a situation where they will still have the need come the next draft. That is horsefeathers awful by any measure.

    agree on all accounts. I do worry about his delivery and propensity to issue walks. It's a funkadelic delivery even from the stretch.

    We get it already. Anytime someone posts about another player just assume that the person also wants the Cubs to make a play for Ohtani. It will help to keep the frustration level down for you.

    LA Dodgers will win the bidding war. He will become a shutdown closer.

    I'm not fully on board with Soto due mostly to the great likelihood of it being a one year and off to free agency contract. However, if they trade Morel for him it will be a swap of DHs, with the Cubs getting the more productive DH. The Padres may have other plans for Morel than the Cubs do, but he's a DH for Ross. Ross isn't going to play Morel significantly anywhere else, because he's a redass.

    That sounds about correct. They are all about going about this in the "right" way. But, I kind of believe that if they make those moves they will be better than 2023.

    I'll give credit where it is due. Poles told him to find a team that would give him a better deal and he couldn't.

    There aren't even enough good FA players to acquire with all the unused money they have. For years my dad has complained that the McCaskey family is cheap and hoarding money. I never really believed him because of the nature of Football operations, but I'm wondering now.

    It wasn't a knock on the Cubs or Rivera. Just an observation. I think there is a pattern that they've been relatively successful with. From Ian Happ to Nico, to Shaw, etc.
