  1. He does this. Yeah so at least that forced someone to make a tough catch in the back of the end zone. Better than just letting him walk in for a touchdown or run for 8 yards, which is what usually happens when he's in the game.
  2. look at the teams out of conference schedules before you say stuff like this please. your are def wrong. Big 10 O-O-C Games (Sagarin Rankings) OSU v. 18 Texas OSU v. 40 Cincy OSU v. 84 N. Illinois OSU v. 139 BGU PSU v. 106 Akron PSU v. 13 Notre Dame PSU v. 70 Youngstown State PSU v. 165 Temple UM v. 13 Notre Dame UM v. 65 Vandy UM v. 62 Central Michigan UM v. 93 Ball State Wisc v. 139 BGU Wisc v. 157 W. Illinois Wisc. v. 120 SDSU Wisc. v. 149 Buffalo Those are just the top 4 Big Ten teams schedules, but I would say those OOC schedules blow. You are the one who is "def" wrong. By the way, the Big 10's strength of schedule for OOC games was 9th of the 11 major conferences. http://www.andersonsports.com/football/ACF_frnk.html Breaking news - pretty much every conference plays easy out of conference schedules. Welcome to major college football.
  3. When Tebow is in the game, put 9 guys in the box. Why does this not happen?
  4. Go ahead with your Big East jabs but this game is hurting the Big 10 just at least as much (if not more) as it's helping the SEC. The hell if I care, I'm a Penn State fan, not a Big Ten fan. I'd prefer if Michigan and Ohio State could lose their bowl games by 100 points each.
  5. (a) no need for a measurement - the line was the 30, he didn't get there, so there was no point in bringing out the change (b) I'm sure it was reviewed while the Florida guy was injured on the field. They must not have seen any evidence that the call was wrong.
  6. Louisville would have at least 50 right now
  7. Be careful what you wish for... Chris Wells is waiting in the wings
  8. maybe we should have a morotorium on mariotti-bashing until he's recovered from heart surgery.
  9. You've won already. You have more points already (385) than everybody except for the second place guy (who I assume to be bukie) can get overall. Both of you picked Ohio State to win so he can't gain on you. I can only get one more point which would put me at 375. oh, I was thinking you get negative points for the games you get wrong. Guess I should've looked at the rules.
  10. That might be true, but I'm not sure that Ohio State will score 10 points more than anybody has scored on Florida all year. Their defense is pretty darn good.
  11. I assume Delmon Young doesn't count? If not, then I take Gordon as well.
  12. well, looks like it's either me or soccer10k... if O$U wins, I win, but if Florida wins, I lose too many points and he takes over first place.
  13. Florida 38 Ohio State 2
  14. Unforutnately, you and Mike Tranghese are the only people who feel this way. Fine with me. If they'd lost to Michigan, they'd have had no argument to be in ahead of Michigan, and if they'd lost to ND, then they'd have lost their only real non-conference game.
  15. Go sixers! And by "go" I mean "finish with the worst record in the NBA, win the lottery, and draft Greg Oden"
  16. I expect Edmonds to be worse than .372 OBP and .516 SLG. He's declined pretty sharply the last two years. Adam Kennedy's numbers look a little pessimistic, but I doubt that Tag Bozied and John Rodriguez do that well (certainly won't have that many ABs). I don't even know who some of these people are. Nick Stavinoha?
  17. Michigan State regularly goes to bowls?!?!? And Toledo usually goes to a bowl because they play in the MAC and finish 7-5 or 8-4 every year. I'm more impressed by the team that plays one really hard game than 3 pretend-hard games and 2 duds. So a good MAC, middle of the road Big 10 and usually upper level ACC team stink but one very good team and 3 AA teams are better? Let's also add that by including Arkansas you now have 2 bowl out of conference teams that the top 4 SEC teams played during the regular season and one lost 50-14. Yeah, that proves you're the best. Michigan State is not a middle of the road Big 10 team. They finished 10th this year, 9th last year, 6th in '04, 5th in '03, and 9th in '02. They've made one bowl game in five years. Minnesota is a middle of the road Big 10 team; Michigan State is in the bottom third. Virginia? 7th this year, 9th last year, 4th in '04, 4th (of 9) in '03, 3rd (of 9) in '02. That smells a lot more like a middle of the road ACC program to me, especially since that's what they've been since the arrival of Miami/F$U/BC. And Toledo might be a pretty good MAC team most years, but this year they sure weren't. So now tell me of what wonderful things Utah St, SE Mo St and Lou-Monroe have done? Also, when these contracts/shedules are signed it is years in advance. Yeah, so can we also give credit to LSU for beating a good Fresno State program, or to Auburn for beating a middle of the road Washington State team? And I guess Florida beat one of the premiere teams in the country when they topped Florida State.

If we expand it to Tennessee, then you've got a trouncing of a good Pac 10 team. And, you're being awfully selective about this year. In previous years, Auburn has played USC, LSU has played Arizona St, Florida has played Miami and does play (a usually very good) Florida State every year. If you look ahead to next year, Auburn plays Oregon St and USF, and then they play WVU in 2008. LSU plays Virginia Tech and Middle Tennessee State (hey look out they went to a bowl this year!), Alabama plays @F$U, so does Florida; Tennessee goes to Cal and also plays Southern Miss and Northern Illinois; Georgia plays GT and Oklahoma St; Arkansas (admittedly) plays four duds. Still, I'm guessing this is just as tough as what the Big East will do OOC in 2007.

  20. Congrats, you found the one Big East team that actually did play a tough OOC schedule.

  22. So which non-conference schedule are you more impressed by? vs Virginia vs Michigan State vs Toledo vs Citadel @ UCF or vs USC vs Utah St vs SE Missouri St vs UL-Monroe :?:
  23. to be fair, Runyan did go to Michigan, so he's been the beneficiary of favorable referee work for most of his football career.
  24. Sure you can---I believe OSU and USC are the two best teams in the country and UM lost to just those two teams. LSU lost to an above-average Auburn team and lost by two scores to Florida. Michigan beat ND just as bad as or worse than LSU beat them. I think there's no way you can put Michigan below LSU. Florida could possibly be ahead of Michigan, but I haven't seen a luckier team in the national title game since 2003 Ohio State. Florida squeaked by Vandy, Tennessee, and South Carolina and beat Florida State by a just a TD. Michigan had the better season, and Florida's big loss to OSU will indicate who the better team is. So to summarize: -Michigan lost to "your" two best teams in the country. -LSU is worse than Michigan because they lost to worse teams than Michigan lost to -Your #2 team in the nation lost to teams with 4 losses and 6 losses, respectively. -Michigan beat ND as bad or worse than LSU beat them, even though LSU won by one more point, and LSU outgained ND by 150 yards more than Michigan outgained them by. :?:
