  1. i know you're all listening to holy cross in overtime like i am :P
  2. ugh, santana or soriano? soriano or santana? santana it is.
  3. Bill O'Reilly is on the Colbert Report tonight! Considering that the show is just one big spoof of the O'Reilly Factor, this HAS to be funny.
  4. damn, northwestern started making threes... i was hoping they'd get under 30 or 40 this game.
  5. Northwestern has 15 points at halftime. They might not score 30.
  6. Well after a half of basketball that must have been awful to watch (20-19), Holy Cross took care of Navy pretty easily, 61-42, to move to 13-6 (4-0 conference). In other Patriot League action: Bucknell 67, Lafayette 61 Lehigh 60, Colgate 59 Army 60, American 55 Eight teams in action, and the highest-scoring one had 67 points. Patriot League basketball - catch the excitement!
  7. Really don't understand CFN ranking Penn State at #24 - that's where they finished this year. They lost some talent on the d-line, but they have a lot waiting in the wings there. Offensively, they graduated only two players (albeit very good ones). And, their schedule is easier next year. I think #15 is about right, assuming Morelli improves a bit from this year.
  8. New Orleans (+3) Indianapolis (-3) I gotta stick with my picks. Same picks for me
  9. ugh, i'm gonna have to miss the last 2 hours of this game... our first Special Olympics swim practice is on Sunday.
  10. I'm kinda shocked by this deal... very team-friendly contract. He's a very solid hitter and his power came on a little bit last year.
  11. I picked all the road teams to cover and they did! 98-72 on the year and I can reach 100 wins with a 2-1 performance the rest of the way.
  12. who brings two pencils to a bar???
  13. 9/16 his junior year, 7/13 senior year including three misses from under 40 yards. I really think Penn State's current kicker could be very good if he received the proper coaching, but I'm sure that's not happening.
  14. Mark my words, Peter will use Rex's past quarterback ratings as an reason to dump on him at some point. In fact if I go look through his archives, I'm pretty damn sure he's already done it! Plus his point is stupid. Peyton Manning played like crap. Brady played pretty poorly too. By the way, every time Robbie Gould makes a kick I get more and more pissed off. Not because I hate the Bears or anything, but because he sucked when he was at Penn State. And I blame the PSU coaching staff for that (since they inexplicably refuse to hire a special teams coach).
  15. ouch I know one thing, the next time Merriman gets "injured" and has to be taken to the locker room, I'd have an NFL escort verify what exactly he's doing back there. Especially when it looks like a serious injury but 5 minutes later he's running around as if nothing happened. Just sayin'. He should no longer have the presumption of being on the level, 'cuz he clearly isn't. Come on - you think they have fast-acting roids or something?
  16. After watching yesterday's game, I'm even more upset that I couldn't vote for Dan Dierdorf.
  17. I'm an Eagles fan and I voted for "24." Maybe it's because I didn't have high hopes for the postseason, but I think it's more because I've been looking forward to the start of this season for several months, and I know that this means it'll be on every Monday night for a while now.
  18. Did you watch his game today? I would too. The sad thing is it looks like the Bulls will no longer be in the Greg Oden sweepstakes...the Knicks aren't bad enough. :x I have my doubts about Oden's offensive game after watching the Badgers contain him. His right hand isn't fully healthy yet and he has a long way to go when it comes to scoring and ball handling. He could come around over the next few months, but he might be best served by staying another year at Ohio State, imo. I wouldn't worry too much about his offense. He probably played in high school against kids who were far inferior to him athletically, so scoring was probably no trouble at all. He's playing major college ball - even most NBA stars who went straight from high school to pro ball took a couple of years to develop. I think worst case scenario, he's another Emeka Okafor - somewhat limited offensively, but still can get you about 15 points per game, will average double-digit rebounds per game, and be a beast defensively. His ceiling could be Tim Duncan, and I don't think that's too much of an exaggeration.
  19. Everyone has a bad game every now and then, but Rex has four games under 30 this year. There were 8 qualified QB's who finished the season with QB ratings lower than Rex's. Half of them lost their jobs during the season. One (Joey Harrington) won't be a starter next year, and another (Charlie Frye) will probably have to compete for a job. ding ding ding, you win the prize. Rex Grossman was God-awful for five starts; Philip Rivers was awful in one, maybe two. Rivers had the #8 passer rating in the NFL (#5 among guys who played the entire year) and made the Pro Bowl. Rex Grossman was worse than most of the quarterbacks in the NFL, and is considerably worse than every other quarterback left in the playoffs. He turned the ball over than everyone not named Jon Kitna. Maybe it's not a media conspiracy to make him look bad - maybe he IS bad.
  20. way to show up, memphis. i think they're in greg oden mode the rest of the season.
  21. Baltimore was only favored by 3.5 over the Colts and they were at home. That translates into basically a toss up game if it was on a neutral field. The Bears are favored by 9 over Seattle not to mention that they pounded Seattle earlier this year. The Ravens and Colts were the 2 and 3 seeds while the Bears and Seahawks are the 1 and 4 seeds. The only reason the Colts win is considered an upset is because they were playing on the road. If the Bears were on the road they would still be favored over the Seahawks. It's not a double standard and the Ravens are not the biggest disappointment every. Your homerism is horribly clouding your judgment here. not to mention the bizarre paranoia about the media/referees that some fans seem to have
