I found this while perusing articles this morning.

Now that free agents Mark Grudzielanek and Tony Graffanino are seeking three-year deals in a player-friendly market, the Royals are taking a harder look at staying with the status quo — Andres Blanco — at second base.

Wow...three year deal for Grudzielanek? Will anyone give him that?

The Cardinals certainly won't.

Bret Boone to the Cards, then.

I'll see your Bret Boone and rise you the Cubs resigning Burnitz!

Geez, you don't have to get nasty about it.

I can't imagine any team giving grudz 3 years. I got a big kick outta my cards fan buddies who were so high on him the first part of the season - and I kept telling them, "just wait, he's gonna come back down to earth very soon".....and he did:) On the contrary, he's got spectacular defensive skills, and I always liked him on the northside. I was pleased we went with Walker over Grudz though.....

Grudz is an average fielder. His Rate in 2005 was exactly 100.

rate....stats....blah blah blah....sometimes its best to not get so tied up in #'s and enjoy watching somebody play ball.....and Grudz, imo, is always fun to watch out in the field.

what does being fun to watch have to do with being good in the field?

Macias and Neifi must be fun to watch for Dusty.

Great, but let's remember that being fun to watch and being effective are too different things.

Grudz IS effective in the field....and fun to watch as well. And for that matter, to all the Neifi bashers - he's effective in the field as well!!!

No one dislikes Neifi because of his defense.

And Grudz is as effective in the field as any other average second baseman.

I don't care what people on here like or dislike about Neifi, to be honest. There are a ton of Neifi bashers on here that overlook the tools he has, which was my point. If Crusty new half a crap about running a team, Neifi would've been serving the roles he should and everybody would love him! It seems very few people here are ever happy with any Cub....kinda ironic on a Cubs messageboard

And Grudz is better defensively than all the other "average" second baseman.

Neifi is a useful bench player. I don't think NSBB has a problem with Neifi, just how Dusty uses him.

Well the thing is -- and this is the tricky part, mind you -- he actually isn't.

Actually, there's nothing "tricky" about your opinions.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. An opinion is neither right nor wrong.

A condescending retort, however, is very blatant and factual....

This doesn't look like an opinion to me.

You're exactly right. Neifi is a quality player and honestly, I have absolutely no problem giving him 2.5M - I said about a million times in other threads - who else is there to sign if not Neifi, I didnt get ONE reply. Hm, maybe instead of 2/5 for Neifi we should get Graf for 3/9? that makes more sense?
