I can't stand Macias and don't care much for Perez, but something tells me that no matter who it is that replaces them, same time next year we will be complaining about them and hoping that Hendry doesn't resign them.

You almost need guys like Melvin Mora, Michael Young, Jason Kendall, etc on the bench and better guys starting to keep Dusty from putting a bad lineup in the field. Unfortunately, guys like those wouldn't sign with a team to sit on the bench.

My recollection is that Dusty justified using Mark Guthrie (instead Dave Veres and others) in the 10th inning of Game 1, because he did not want Veres "to have to face Lenny Harris," who was available as a pinch hitter from the left side. So instead, he used Guthrie -- and the Marlins usedLowell, who was available as a pinch hitter from the right side.
