what percentage of the crowd has seen more games at wrigley than the cell? I'm going to go with 75 percent. 25 percent have never been to the cell before this postseason.

I'd rather have Eckstein than Podsednik.

ugh, why?

No stats to back it up, but he seems to get things going for the Cards quite a bit...

He gives the Cards some pretty good OBP, way better than what the Cubs have in their leadoff spot...but his defense leaves some things to be desired, and he has a complete noodle arm.

so is jenks and he's harder to find (for the cubs anyway). Hairston is as good as Podsednik.

I've never seen in Hairstons stats 60 steals

I dont know. wish the Cubbies were in the Series.......

But do you think he would have hurt the cubs if he was on the team this past year? I mean you know who was batting in our top two spots, and they couldn't even see pods OBP.

Dr. PouDRE has a point. If a player steals bases at or above a 75% clip, they are benefitting their team. If not, they are hurting their team. Yet I agree with you, Posednik couldn't have hurt the Cubs if he tried. We were embarrassing at getting on base this year.

That falls more on the stupidity of the manager than on the players themselves. Come on, don't make it sound like Patterson, Neifi, and Macias had good or even passable OBPs. Hairston was up and down.

But I'd take some one like Murton, Cedeno, or Walker over Podsednik offensively without much of a second thought.

The point is that the 23 hurt the team more than the 60 help. The white sox would score more runs if he never tried to steal at all

Is it me or are good managers non-existent in the NL Central?

I have no idea why garner became conservative at the end. Lefty like Cotts vs. Lamb is a horrible matchup to try and sneak a run. Followed by a late switch of taking Berkman out for Burke at 1B w/2 outs.

I would've PH'ed Burke for Lamb, WS bring in Politte and squeeze with Burke and Tavares and roll the dice. Bruke has very good bat control, Politte is not the most mobile of pitchers and Tavares is the fastest runner in MLB.
