does anyone else get annoyed when players predict how a series will go. In the last day I've heard both Guillen and Peralphabetski say something like the following:

Guillen:

"It's going to be baseball from the beginning all the way to the end - squeezes, hit-and-run, moving guys over."

and

It's not going to be like, two-run home run and wait for the closer

Sure it may look like that on paper, but when "experts" go along saying things like this it usually doesn't come true.

I hope the 'Stros blow the Sox out in every game or hit a two run homer in the first and hold out til Lidge....humor....

There's no such thing as a safe prediction for the WS, but it I would think that it might set records for the lowest scoring series. Very good pitching and mediocre hitting on both teams. Also, I would expect the national TV ratings will be pretty low, except for Chicago & Houston.

My prediction is blowout one way or the other. Both have been living on pitching, my bet is that the Sox's staff doesn't show up....

They've been so hot, though, that I'm worried it's wishful thinking to have them just fold all of the sudden. Maybe they'll have gotten a bit rusty or something.

Whatever the case, they'd better lose. Otherwise, I think JR and I will have to form a murder suicide pact.

With a week off since their last game, I can't see how any momentum can be carried into this series for the Sox. The Astros on the other hand should be a little sharper and rested; so the key for them is to jump on the Sox in the first two games, get into that Sox bullpen early. That's where the Sox will have a problem, those guys haven't pitched in a week and a half, so there will probably be some rust.

I can't make a unbiased prediction as I want to see the Sox lose. I'm hoping for the Astros in 6 though.
