"Fans wishing to guarantee a seat for the 2005 World Series can make a deposit on 2006 White Sox season tickets and then purchase 2005 World Series tickets. A 50 percent deposit on the 2006 tickets is required. "

Some will call this move unfair. I consider it a solid ploy. They don't have a strong season ticket base, a loss in the series, especially if it's ugly, might erase much of the benefit from getting there, in terms of generating excitement for ticket sales next year. Strike while the iron is hot. Sox fans should be all over this. Could you imagine if it was that easy to get Cubs series tickets?

Work release jobs don't pay enough for Sox fans to afford that, though.

But seriously, that's a real good ploy. I wish playoff tixs in 2003 were that easy to get for our team.

I would imagine that the White Sox will gain some fan base from the Cubs with this World Series trip. Definitely a smart move on their part attempting to increase season ticket sales with this World Series appearance.

I know sox fans that were very veyr pissed at the sox for doing this. Brokers can buy season tickets, get the series tickets and sell them for almost as much as the entire package costs and take more tickets off the market for next year (not like it matters).

depends on what season tickets are available. the A's did this in 2000 but you could buy 20 game season ticket packages to qualify. the bad part was they made you buy tickets for every possible playoff game.

Certainly weren't any deals like that here last year. Then again, there's a 5-year waiting list for season tickets.

Is it really 5 years? I thought it was less than that.

Here's hoping to all the bandwagon fans still hanging on from '03 flock to the southside and stay there.

I totally agree. Even as long as 1998 when Sammy came onto the scene.
