Seriously, do the players not mind these lineups? Do they not get frustrated when the wrong moves are being made? Is Baker's unrelenting defense of his veterans when they screw up really that endearing?

I hope they don't, as critical as I and some have been w/Dusty, I hope they stand behind Baker and his decisions 100% (as bad as they might be). His strength as a manager is his support as a manager to his players, I hope that is also vice versa with the players supporting and standing behind Baker.

You hear little or no grousing from players. That's a departure from the Riggleman-Baylor years, when every now and then, somebody would complain. Baker talks to a lot of players _ young and older _ every day. The veteran players naturally will like a guy who favors them. The younger players generally stay quiet.

I'll go out on a limb and say that Dusty puts out a completely rational lineup tonight:

 

1. Hairston

2. Walker

3. Lee

4. Nomar

5. Burnitz

6. Barrett

7. Perez

8. Murton

 

 

Okay, not completely rational, but it's Dusty we're talking about here...

 

Switch Murton and Neifi and that's the lineup.

That would certainly be the professional thing to do, but don't you think some guys saw Mitre come in last night and thought to themselves "Ah Christ, here we go...." None of them (besides Walker) would say it publicly of course, unless you count Cedeno's quote saying "I have to play everyday" when discussing his decision to play winter ball

In the SL Championship Game 1, the Jaxx have chased the starter for the Suns (who threw 7 IP in a combined no hitter) after 2 innings. In the bottom of the 2nd it's 6-2 Jaxx with HRs for Brandon Sing and Matt Craig

It is interesting to see how Milton baffles the Cubs with his loopy curve and avg. FB, I agree that Murton has the ideal approach for Milton by taking the curve to RF and pulling the FB.

 

Ruhle has done a great job since taking over as PC for Cincy.
