I was wondering how long it would be before facing the AL Central again.

So next year is all of baseball going back to the West vs West, East vs East, Central vs Central format again?

We'd probably have Cleveland in Wrigley, as the last (only?) time I can recall the teams meeting in interleague is June of 1999 in Cleveland right before the bottom fell out.

Detroit would be in Detroit again, I think. I don't know about KC, where we played them last.

Did the Cubs play Detroit twice? I know the Tigers were at Wrigley in early June of 2000. I was there to see Aguilera pick up his 300th career save.

We played them in Detroit in late June of 98 and I'm 99.9 percent sure that's when Sammy set the "most homers in a month" record.

I will confirm that. It was

I was about to post the same thing. I remember him hitting a couple in Detroit...around 400 feet each.

He didn't set the record there, though. His 20th was later in the month at Wrigley against Arizona, I believe..

Aguilera's 300th save? Oh how I envy you!

Hopefully we'll get a Johan Santana - Carlos Zambrano game for a battle of the Venezuelan superstars.

I enjoy a good matchup as much as anybody, but I'd just as soon miss Santana altogether.

He most certainly did set the record in Detroit.

The record was 18 set by former Tiger Rudy York. He hit number 19 that month in Detroit.

Do the Cubs play KC? And if so, is it here? Naturally, I'd be very excited if that were the case!

I'm pretty sure the Cubs go to Kaufmann in '06.

The two teams played in Wrigley last time. I remember because the Cubs had to come from behind to win 2 of the games. Of course I think the Royals still had Dye and Damon on that team.

From a personal point of view, I'd like to see the Cubs facing the Royals. I've enjoyed a few Royals games on MLBtv this year, (probably more than Royals fans have enjoyed, actually) and though I've not seen too much of the other teams being bandied about (Well, a few Tigers games) that enjoyment level was high enough.

Cubs @ Royals please.
