Sigh, Cedeño and Murton were one of the few reasons I still watched the Cubs. The Cubs won't be as interesting with those two on the bench. :(

Zambrano games, and some Prior games. Maybe if Hill or Mitre got to start :(

I'd add Maddux, but I guess I'm in the minority here wanting to see him try to claw his way to 15 again. Somehow I'm guessing that if Clement were here instead, Hill and Mitre would still be back-seated.

Dusty isn't going to totally bench Cedeno or Murton. He still won't play them enough but Hendry won't let him totally bench them.

Maybe Z should consider the fact that coughing up that base hit would have let the guy at 3rd score anyway.

Exactly. Murton's throw is essentially meaningless because the guy would have scored anyway.

Of Course if we still had Alou in LF, he would have tried throwing home. The throw would have sailed and the run would have still scored and the runner would have moved up.

Yeah, I like Maddux too.

As we say in the restaurant business when dealing with our staff " there is no problem that our staff has that logic will not exacerbate" I suspect the same may be true of baseball players?

Would a completely ineffective and possibly injured Clement not be back-seated for a rookie (unlike last season, when he was back-seated for a veteran, Rusch)? Of course most of the Maddux complaints are moot now that his option has vested.

So true!

I do like how we have the kid hitting .343 in the 8th hole.

It's all about putting him in situations where he can be successful. Oh wait..... I guess he probably isn't really going to see any good pitches in the 8 hole. Forget it :x

But, dude, Neifi saved us!

I'm still not sure exactly what he saved us from.....but...

Ha ha, I don't doubt that you're right -- no one is going to mention that to Z for about 24 hours. :P

Just keep a low profile until then, Murton.

Z don't need no stinkin' Jose Macias batting for him!!

Of course not. He's "only" thrown 108 pitches thus far. He's good for a few more innings in a meaningless game...right?!?

I'm cool with taking him out - I just think he is probably a better hitter than the guy who would probably have pinch hit for him.
