What's the deal w/ these Cardinals. How can a team get so much garbage to play well?? Taguchi, Rodriguez, Nunez??? Unbelievable luck.

 

Or good coaching, something the Cubs sorely lack.

I'm not saying a coach plays for them, but they do have an impact.

This is the same catcher that was in the Cubs system for a while (Iowa when I lived in DSM a few years ago, I think). If so, he's probably playing w/ a bit of a chip on his shoulder tonight.

No need to make excuses for Prior. He's been giving up the long ball a lot.

 

I'm not trying to make any excuses for Prior. Just saying that getting his first ML HR off the Cubs (and the much-heralded Prior esp) is probably extra sweet for Mahoney.
