Well he should. The players and coaches should believe that.

 

As horrible as we've been they're about a 10-game win streak from having a chance. We as fans can see how unlikely that is and that the thing is pretty much over, but the players and coaches shouldn't and I'm glad if they truly believe it.

I agree that he should say it and hopefully they can find a way to believe it - AND although at this point it would be a major miracle if they were to achieve it, until they are mathematically eliminated there's always a chance.

 

Keep in mind that "only" being 7.5 games out doesn't sound all that terrible until you consider there are 6 teams above us and 2 snapping at our heals. The odds of making up ground with that many teams above you becomes much worse than if we were in 2nd place in the wild card and the same 7.5 games out.

 

Not impossible, but highly improbable.

I was considering actually wearing a paper bag at the game today, and trust me, I booed as hard as anyone when they announced that the Macias-Perez OBP-pit would be leading off, and maybe it was because it was St. Louis, but when the game ended, I just felt so optomistic. And hey, if we can only sweep the rest of the season series, we might still have a shot. :D
