Lots of surgeries doesn't mean everything. Will Ohman had several before he turned in some good years in his last couple with the Cubs. The last couple have been terrible though. I think he was 27 before he got his first real taste in the bigs.

I thought even if he was a type B that would have been worth at least a draft pick. Is that wrong? Like a sandwich pick or something.

Is there a rule on how much we'd have to offer him if he accepted? Someone will sign him hoping he'll have a bounce back year, unfortunately it might be us. I guess I don't see what's wrong with offering him arbitration and low balling him a contract to make him want to sign elsewhere.

I don't want him either, but the fact that he's a type A free agent makes you wonder if we should offer it to him so we get two draft picks. We could always just tell him that we'll sign him for way below market and buy him his ticket out of town.

I can't believe it. That is really intrigueing because if Hendry does offer him a contract what if he takes it, but if he decides to move on we could get two picks.

Gold gloves are a joke, I thought everyone knew that, but I wouldn't mind Abreu, I wouldn't mind Kosuke sliding over to center to make room. I'm hoping he can bounce back like most others from his country.

Remlinger and JoBo were both DFAd. Hawkins was dumped in a trade. Sosa was dumped in a trade. Jacque Jones was dumped in a trade. Hendry's had no problem dumping players if he didn't feel they were productive. And regarding Eyre being an 8th pitcher in postseason, teams pretty much never take 8 bullpen arms to the postseason. 11 man staffs are the standard. You never have a use for an 8th guy out of the bullpen with all the off days. Remmy was in the last year of a deal that was a couple years to long. He was holding on with a thread until he hurt himself in a lazy boy in the players clubhouse. He signed his own ticket out of town. Jobo was another project that Hendry made work for awhile before returning back to normal status. Like Miller, those aren't mistakes in my opinion because no one else was fighting to sign them. Unlike Eyre who signed a three yr deal and was one of the hottest relievers of that free agent pool. Dumping in trades is different than DFA'ing in my opinion.

At least Hendry got rid of one of his signings. That might be a first. As far as Howry or Eyre. They're in the same boat in my opinion, I guess the Cubs have a little more faith in Howry turning it around than Eyre.

Benching D-Ro for Roberts might make some sense, but for Kent, no thanks.

Kevin Hart for John Koronka, basically, because I believe we traded Koronka for Bynum. Good trade(s). So who's Dusty's new favorite in Cincy now? I swear Koronka went the year before. Bynum we got from the A's and Koronka went to Texas. Can someone put this together for us?

Bynum brought us a pretty good pitcher. Kudos to Hendry on that one!

If Marshall wins a spot in the pen it would be smart to leave him and Lieber in as long men. Then you'd have Wuertz, Marmol, Howry, Hart, and Wood closing. The open spot might be for Lahey? I'm not sure, anyone else know what they're going to do with him?
