Jim send Murton and Cedeno back down to the minors so they can continue working on things rather than ride the pine. Do we still have Trinidad Hubbard. Bring up a guy like that Dusty will probably start someone like him. He's old, slow, no obp, and a bad average.....just like Macias and Neifi he's a perfect fit for Dusty. Hendry should have known better than to bring them up because they aren't going to make an audition for next season by riding the bench and they are not going to play under Dusty Baker.

I'll challenge the notiion that Macias is a good 25th man. Why agree with someone who says Macias is a good anything? What does he do well? He can stand in several positions on the field. That's great, but he doesn't play any of them well. He can't throw. He can't hit for power. He's not fast, nor is he a good baserunner. He's hitting .290 based on a small sample size reliant on bloopers and seeing eye singles. There are probably 100 superior players in AAA than him and another 100 in AA.

 

It's really even pointless to talk about it, but in order to be a good 25th man, you have to do something well, and Macias doesn't.

What is funny--you make fun of Trenidad Hubbard, but he was hitting like 357 in Iowa and he had an OBP over 400. He is a center fielder--they released him, but I guarantee he would be 100 times better than Macias.

 

Also, I was at last nights I-Cub game and COrey looked real good. He was 3-4 and they were line drives--one to left and 2 up the middle. If he is not in center tomorrow night against the reds and letting me cheer him on from the bleachers--that is an absolute joke. But then again--this team is quickly becoming an absolute joke.

Hendry's lost his mind if he picks up Grissom. Just bring up Patterson and see what he can do. At least try to raise his trade value, as it appears Pie's the guy in 06.
