I believe Jose Canseco, now; and, I don't believe the so-called "commissioner of baseball" or any of his shills....like Raffy Palmeiro....who deny, deny, deny....while they shoot and shoot and shoot....

Canseco is telling the truth, yet nobody is listening. Palmeiro is talking, yet everybody is listening. That is a screwed-up scenario.

I believe Canseco....and, I don't believe Palmeiro....on all or any of this!

Go "commissh!" What a dumb ass loser!!!

Bud Selig is a coward. He won't use any muscle against the union, who has yet to give any logical reason why they won't submit to a stricter testing/punishment policy. He never makes statements publicly, instead resorting to faxing his statements to new agencies.

Selig is a used car salesman. It is beyond me how he has managed to retain his position as long as he has. What the league needs is a commissioner who is neither a former player nor a former owner. You need a truly impartial arbiter for this league.

I dont beleive a word Canseco says.

I dont beleive a word Raffy says anymore.

And selig is a pansyass who needs to make the steroid policy something people would actually fear.

1st offense - 50 Games

2nd offense - 1 full season

3rd offense - 3 to 5 years.

Get a backbone selig.

Well he supposedly wants something like that, but the conversation usually goes something like this:

SELIG: I demand a stronger line of punishment for positive steroid testing!

FEHR: Shut up maggot!

SELIG: I'm sorry, sir. Please don't hit me again.

It's not even that which bothers me. I'm not even sure Selig is even on board for a strickter steroid policy. Look at the way he covered Palmerio for weeks as he used his steroid enhanced physique to get his 3,000th hit while the commish knew of his positive steroids test. Terrible example to set.

if i were the commish, i'd have a permanent ban for the first offense. That'll get to the idiots taking steroids.

I agree. Pete Rose is banned; yet, Mr. Palmeiro has the audacity to talk about the Hall of Shame. The other side of that coin, however, is Giambi. He came clean....and, he got clean....and, he has salvaged his career, in my opinion. The thing that burns my rear about Mr. Palmeiro is that he has been covering up and making bald-faced lies for weeks, now.

To heck with him!

In fact, to heck with all the juicers....and, corkers....and, especially, Sosa and Bonds.

I believe Canseco when he states that he "taught" Palmeiro how to use steroids. In my opinion, Palmeiro is a liar....

That's not even an opinion. It's a fact. He said he didn't take steroids, while under oath, before the US Congress, then tested positive. He'll be lucky not to have perjury charges thrown at him (though it would be tough to prove that he was taking steroids at the exact time of the hearings)

I wonder if Selig was instrumental in implementing this "no Indian mascots in the NCAA postseason" policy. Sounds like the kind of half-assed, not really solving the problem policy that Selig is famous for. "Indian names are fine unless it's a nationally broadcast Bowl Game that a corporate sponsor has raped of all it's integrity"

It doesn't need to be at the exact time of the hearing. It just needs to be at some date before the hearing took place, be it a day or 15 years.

Exactly. As I recall, his quote was "I have never, ever taken steroids."

I was thinking to myself the other day that since Jose Canseco was vindicated to a small degree, maybe it's time to take what he says more seriously.

Then I saw him interviewed for an 'Outside the Lines' special last night on ESPN where he was suggesting that Palmeiro was being set up as the fall guy by the commisioner and the players association and there was some huge conspiracy going on. I think he mentioned the illuminati at some point. Anyways, it made no sense whatsoever and Canseco came off looking like a complete idiot. Whatever new-found credibility he may have acquired in the wake of Palmeiro, he flushed away with that interview. My low opinion of him continues unabated.

I disagree with you. And, my take on the interview was totally opposite.

As Canseco pointed out, Palmeiro was the "Latino" response to Canseco's allegations. Palmeiro was considered "squeaky clean" by the so-call "commissioner" and his stooges. Now, with the outing of the steroids violations....along with the lies that accompany them....Palmeiro and the world realize that he is a patsy.

What is so hard to make sense out of that? I doubt very seriously that the so-called "commissioner" or any of his shills are capable of thinking about "conspiracies."

I beleive Canseco, now....

I don't understand how that makes Palmeiro a patsy. Are you suggesting he is innocent? That this was some huge set-up by the commisioner's office to out a star player so that he can ease suspicions as to the efficacy of the the steroid testing program (and Palmeiro, of course, being the latino that he is, making the perfect scapegoat)? Or are you suggesting that the commisioners office and player's union are protecting a number of players that have already tested positive (along with Palmeiro) and decided to throw Palmeiro to the wolves as a sacrificial lamb, he having just surpassed 500 home runs and 3000 hits and being latino? I'm not getting this. I don't see how Bud Selig, the player's union or baseball benefits from having Palmeiro being made a fall guy.

If anything, instead of being a patsy, he was afforded a degree of privacy and protection that other players (Alex Sanchez and Juan Rincon) have not. The only really conspiratorial situation about this whole thing is the leaking of the exact substance that was in violation. This after Palmeiro emphatically denied that he "intentionally" took steroids.

Sorry, I'm not buying what Canseco's selling.

Well....we will see what happens, won't we? Personally, I believe the so-called "commissioner" and his shills never envisioned Palmeiro getting caught. They were, in my opinion, trying to quell Congress. That is as far ahead as they are/were capable of thinking. Just get rid of Congress...and, here is a perfect Latino to respond to Canseco's charges. Mr. Perfecto.

(reminiscent of "I never had sex with that woman!")

I wonder if Raffy likes cigars....

I am buying what Canseco's selling...and, I am sure, alot more will be forthcoming.

ESPECIALLY when you realize that the specific chemical that Jose claimed to have injected into Raffy is the same one that has leaked out as being the one Palmeiro tested positive for.

Hmmmm......seems strange that, right after everything Canseco said about Palmiero has been proven to be absolutely right on the money, folks come out and refuse to believe anything he says.

This sounds a little like the "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario. Some people just don't like Canseco. Even if he was screaming at someone on railroad tracks to move out of the way of an oncoming train they STILL wouldn't believe him because he's a "slimeball."

Well, slimeball he is. But he's also been proven to be telling the truth about Palmiero. I, for one, will be taking his words on who was using steroids more seriously from now on.

Let's not forget he also said he & McGwire personally injected steroids together, and a short while later Big Mac---looking like a deflated baloon--was before Congress refusing to answer questions from Congressmen & women.

Oh, BTW---the Canseco saga is not over. He's going to be writing another book detailing many more people behind the scenes who were involved in Steroid-gate.

Gotta love how Gene Orza is upset that the truth leaked out about Palmiero. Yet, not a word of disappointment that a supposed "hall of fame" ballplayer was actually a cheat.

The players' union are truly enemies of the truth.

My biggest beef is that he says Nomar took steriods. I really dont think nomar would be that type of guy. who knows, though.
