I would be suprised if he ever makes it back to the big leagues. He's easily fooled by off-speed stuff.

if he never makes it back, it's because major league gm's are stupid.

minor league numbers matter, even if his first couple hundred major league at bats havent gone as well as one would hope.

There's obviously a lot of potential in him. He's got a lot of power. Just needs to develop some patience at the plate and he'll become a dangerous hitter, IMO.

Brendan Harris

Jason Dubois

Bobby Hill

Hee Seop Choi

When it comes to position prospects, Hendry knows when to hold them and when to fold them. Will be interesting to see if Murton and Cedeno are with the parent club at the end of 2006.

What's really interesting is Hendry was able to trade those marginal major leaguers for quality ML bats.

Brendan Harris was packaged in the Nomar Deal

Jason Dubois landed Lawton

Bobby Hill brought Aramis

Hee Seop Choi gave us Derrek Lee

These moves exemplify the genius of Jim Hendry.

Edit: The spelling was fixed

To say nothing of his phylum.

Haha, hilarious. I never claimed to be a good typer. Of course, that should read *exemplify* and most importantly *genius*

You forgot the LOL!!

If someone really can't hit off speed stuff, why would ANY pitcher throw a fastball to that hitter? That said, I think he'll be back in September and compete for a spot next year. Teams want good prospects to play, just happens that not many want to give O-J-T in the middle of a race. It's not just Dusty.

Good post. Thankfully Hendry's the GM of the Cubs.

Didn't Dubois go to the mexican league over the winter where they throw nearly exclusively curve balls and do quite well? That'd be yes. He has the potential to be able to hit ML offspead stuff, to say he will never make it back is ridiculous.

He's in somewhat of a predicament. He needs to be patient, but probably gets many of his homers by just trying to tee off on a lot of pitches. If he is more patient, i'm not sure if he produces the same power (homeruns). If his power is somewhat decreased, then he probably doesn't have a place in the league because he is a poor fielder and few teams want a DH without a lot of power.

I still believe Dubois can be a player in this league. Whether he gets a chance to prove this, I don't know.

Maybe if the league expands to 32 teams. The guy's pretty brutal defensively right??

Crash Davis. Been a while since I've seen the movie. :) Hasn't Trenidad Hubbard (sp) had a great minor league career?? Where's Roosevelt Brown nowadays???

Hubbard was released July 7th, when Corey was sent down. I'm not sure what happened with Brown.
