I know this is in injury update thread, but I figured it needed it's own thread seeing as how we just lost our second CF of the year.

So what now? Is Corey coming back up? Murton in left, Burney in center and Lawton in right? Ideas?

What I would do;

Bring Corey back up, but work on a deal to get KG that will not cost us much, both in what would be given up and how much we'd have to take on of his salary.

What Dusty will most likely do;

Bring Corey back up, but will play Macias much more than ever should be done.

#@$#. Time to bring Corey up. And I was hoping he'd get more work in since he probably can't be sent back down again. At least he'll bat #8 and not leadoff.

Iowa didn't seem to help Corey.

19 games, 73 ab's, .219 BA, 3 HR, 7RBI

I don't know why the Cubs would believe Corey has turned a corner. If anything his minor league performance makes his problems look even worse.

His goal was to shorten his swing.

I think he'll be great once he is in the majors.. since he actaully KNOWS the pitcher he is facing.

You're kidding, right?

They need to recall Greenberg and give him a shot to inject some energy into this team. No need to put a still struggling Corey in the lineup and just have him get booed. I want to see Corey start to put up big numbers in Iowa for a sustained period of time before he gets called back up to the majors.

Do we really need yet another lefty-swinging outfielder? The guy we need to use is a red-haired dude who is already on the team.

I couldn't agree with you more. Murton has been nothing but money since he's been brought up from the minors. Why replace him with someone who can't even hit in both leagues?

No, stick Burnitz in CF and Murton on a corner. Burnitz is not the ideal defensive CF but we need to put the best lineup in the game so it's worth taking a chance.

I assume he is talking about CPatt and it would be two levels instead of leagues I believe.

Was talking about CPatt and referring to the two leagues as minor league and major league, but i suppose it would be just different levels and not two separate leagues. Didn't mean to cause confusion ;)
