i really, really like David Wright.

Man, give me a team of my favorite players, and I have a cheap and productive team. Wright would be on there. He's everything I thought David Kelton could be in 2000.

Man this is just sad. My b/f called me on my cell, and I chewed him out just because of these lazy, overpaid, spoiled rotten, stupid bums.

At least when the Cubs stunk in the 90s, Ryno was poetry in the field, Grace was my idol (at the time), and Sammy wasn't on steroids... and...

when the team was 6 runs down, they didn't get your hopes up by coming back part way... only to let the other team gain the runs right back.

I came back in so optimistic.

Now, if the Cubs don't score this inning, I'm gonna watch this ending in bed.

Again.

oh great Novoa coming in.

He's better than Rusch out of the 'pen

agree. I think moving Rusch back to the 5th starter and moving Hill back to the pen would serve us pretty good for the rest of the year.

Everyone rants about Rich Hill, I'm sorry, this kid isn't anything special.

Because it was Hill who let the ball drop in right or threw the ball to first when he should've gone to third or threw home when he should've gone to first

I don't get this unwritten rule where it's against policy to criticize young players or your favorites. Lee is stinking right now, so is Walker. His miscues (at the plate and in the field) have been killing us over the last ten games. And, yes, they are two of my favorites. Rich Hill can't throw strikes, and when he does it costs him 100 pitches in five innings. It's not too hard calling out players when they aren't performing even if they are your favorites.

Nothing wrong with that, just pointing out that it's not all on Hill why they were getting buried after 2.

I'm not sure if Rothschild calls the pitches or Barrett does, but I've questioned the pitch selection a lot this year. I'm not talking about location because you can blame that on the pitcher a lot of times, but why would anyone throw Mike Piazza a first pitch fastball anywhere? Then they start Wright off with a breaking pitch. I don't get it.

Well, that was a positive inning. The Cubs got 3, Mets just 2. IF the Cubs score 1 more than the Mets in each inning for the rest of the game, it will at least go into extras.

How's that for optimism?

You don't need him anyway, Girlfriend! Where's the snapping fingers/neck rolling icon, when you need one?

Derrek flies out. He's reaching for everything. 0-3

Sammy Syndrome. "No one else will go get it, so it's all up to me."

Glendon is a veteran pitcher. Ultimately, he's to blame because he has the right to shake off any pitch he doesn't want to throw.
