Big series. Philly is right ahead of us in the WC race. Padilla is very hittable this year. Win, cobs.

True. He is hittible. He is also 5-9 with 5.45 ERA. Or in other words, he will own the Cubs.

Guess I was right :o

Yeah but Padilla's been very good over his last few starts.

I hate to blame the ump for a really bad day for the offense, but that ball on TWalk with men on 1 and 2 with 0 out a few innings bad changed the game. TWalk gets the count to 3-1, likely walks because Padilla couldn't get anything over the plate, and even the Cubs probably score after that. That friggin pitch was 1 foot outside and was a ridiculous call.

His ERA is in the low 2's in his last 4 starts.

This is officially the "pass the buck" offense. Once someone gets on base, either ground out, hit a fly ball, or on a rare occassion, move the runners over, or on an even more rare occasion, talk a walk, just pass the buck to the next guy so you don't have to be the one to follow through with a basehit.

Whenever it looks like we should pull the pitcher out for any reason in a previous inning, the other team always burns our pitchers in the following inning. I hope this isn't another example of that.
