I doubt Baker would do that, but if he does, I'll make sure to call him out over that like the rest.

 

I just get tired of everyone ripping on Neifi. He's a backup SS -- he's not a bonafide SS like Nomar and isn't going to bat .320 with 30 homers and 120 rbis.

 

No one is "ripping on him" because theyre expecting .320 with 30 homers and 120 rbis, they're ripping on him because he is awful.

 

 

Explain to me how he's awful besides OBP.. god knows he's only strook out 35 times this year and usually puts the ball in play.

 

Neifi's job is to fill in for Nomar and he's done a fine job at it. And Neifi's more of a defensive player than an offensive stud like everyone WANTS him to be.

Agreed, then 1/2 the shortstops in baseball are awful. Since middle of the pack is .692 OPS

If Todd advances the runners we would have scored on Neifi's groundout. The Cubs need to do the little things to win because this offense isn't overwhelming anyone lately.

Bad baseball in those spots, but Todd's production has been much better this season than Neifi's.

You do have a point. In reality, the whole offense just sucks right now.

We really can't totally fault Neifi, the bottom line, is the Cubs aren't doing it. Period.

What was wrong about that comment? The Cubs haven't won in 100 years. Partly because of the teams they were fielding. However we finally have a good team, just horrible chemistry and balance.

Fortunately for Todd, he's hitting .295 this year.
