Since the list is based on this season, I would strongly suggest the additions of Nomar and Kerry Wood to that list. Nomar should be in there in the top 5, and Wood at LEAST an honorable mention. Not to mention Rolen and Thome.

Overall I can't say I disagree with the people the list as the top 10. However to say that Boone at probably the leage min, is more overpaid by the Twins, than say, any of their honorable mentions, is overstating it by a large amount. I would also use that argument as to why Sosa, while he should still be there, shouldn't rank as highly as just an Oriole.

To me, it's just another piece of sensational journalistic fluff from Page 2. But, I can't fault them. That's what (it seems) they are paid to do.

For once, I actually agree with ESPN's list. CubsinNC, they said they weren't counting anyone that's been injured most of the year and they shouldn't. Even the best player is overpaid if he doesn't play most of the year. If that was the case, than Bonds should top the list. They also are looking at what the players being paid, regardless of who's picking up the tab. Therefore, Boone and Sosa fit right in.

Jason Isringhousen should also be on that list b/c he makes $8.5M and when Gagne goes 55-55, wins the rolaids relief man award, the Cy Young, and loses his arbitration case and is being paid only 5M, instead of the 8M he asked for, IMO something is wrong.

You can't compare a free agent contract to an arbitration case, it's a completely different animal.

I would consider putting Carlos Beltran on that list. He is putting up decent #'s but not want you expect out of a 100 million dollar man. He made all that cash in the 2 weeks he played in October.

Beltran has not come anywhere close to producing what is to be expected when you're paid as much as he is, however i believe that the argument for his exclusion is that his numbers aren't plain awful...and how is christian guzman not #1? his numbers are the worst in the majors by far, i don't care if he's only making 4 mil, i've played with guys who could hit .200 against ML pitching, and he's managing only .186

I dont see how a guy who is 28 for 31 in save opportunities with and ERA of 1.73 is overpaid. A closer is one of the most important roles on a team and a guy who can come in and get the job done is worth that type of money in my opinion.
