No doubt that's going down. He's been a great pickup.

For Latroy Hawkins.

I would have done that trade straight up, but we got Aardsma too.

Hell, I would have traded Hawkins for a bag of dirt, don't even need a bag of balls.

Jerome performing well is great on two fronts. First, it helps us. Secondly, it increases his trade value if we are inclined to move him.

Hey, I just said that a couple of pages ago. Great minds...

lol, I missed that one but you're right.

Ugh, I'd be nervous moving Williams I think he has such a bigger upside that starting Mitre or Rusch if we want to compete this year.... The only positive would be if Rich Hill is given a shot at starting and is succesful.

i'd much rather move Mitre or Rusch then Williams, just my opinion.

I'm following the game at cbs.sportsline.com and they have Ken Griffey in the game and on the bench at the same time.

Maybe they signed Griffey Sr. earlier today...

I'm with you. And I think they've both enjoyed enough success this year to be valuable as well.

OK my curiosity is piqued... how do you do that stat thing Fred?

Not much to it, really. I just enter the box score information into a database after every game.

the game mitre had against the Blue Jays was pretty big imo. he went toe to toe with and beat Roy Halladay. He proved he can pitch at this level and is just a victum of being on a team with an exceptional rotation.

when his sinker is working, Mitre is awesome. Problem is, the sinker is a hit or miss pitch and since that's his #1 pitch, when it's off, hes going to struggle big time. I like it more when Rusch and Mitre are starting, in the bullpen, they both tend to struggle.

Don't forget June 14th when he tossed a complete game shutout against the Marlins. I know I wont ever forget that game.

Hey to someone who knows, what ever happened to OUR Machado. I can't remember his first name anymore. Is he still in the majors?

Roberto was his name, dont know of his whereabouts.

He has a database, not sure how he maintains it.

Yeah I figured that... I guess whatever he has written to search the database must be a good program. I was curious because as a part of my masters thesis I had to write code to extract data from massive files, and I was guessing Fred's program does a similar sort of thing.

Or you could just use SQL.

yeah didn't he beat Beckett that day? I think the kid has proven he can pitch at the big league level. Couple him with Dubois, and another arm and I think you could get a pretty good left fielder who resembles a donkey.
