Completely idiotic by Farnsworth. He will be lucky if gets a suspension of any less than 7 games. He is also fortunate he did not get hurt. After he lifted Affeldt he got turned around and it looked like he is the one that actually got the brunt of the body slam.

Farns will probably get more than the 2 games he got before (reduced from 3 w/o appeal)...especially since he just took wilson without charging the plate. man, he was just getting his career back on track. i hope he doesn't kick another inanimate object.

You get the feeling that Farnsworth is the type of guy who always wants it to be known that he's the biggest guy in the room, and lives for situations like that.

 

I would have liked to see Sisco and Farnsy square off in a Battle of the Giants.

Yeah, I agree. Hitting a guy in or near the head is just awful and should not be tolerated.

I know when I played rec ball when I was younger the rule used to be that you only had to have 9 people on the field for the first pitch. So if you only had 9 people show up, but one of the people had a broken finger you could stick them in RF for one pitch and then take them out. Then for the rest of the game you had to play with only 8 fielders. I don't know what happens when that person's spot in the line up came up, I guess it was an automatic out. But maybe it's different in rec ball than it is in MLB.

A few things to draw from that:

 

1. Runelvys Hernandez should be gone for 30 games, at least. I can't recall an intentional toss at a hitter's head since Benitez several years ago in Yankee Stadium.

 

2. Farnsworth should get 6-10 games.

 

3. Matt Stairs should be a Cub.

Farnsworth just looked like a typical dumb macho meathead, but Hernandez looked like a genuinely malicious character. Farns deserves a suspension but Hernandez deserves a really big one.

I don't know if I have mentioned this on this board before but I love Kyle Farnsworth. And Balsa, I'm sorry about you never seeing the video. That was one of the funniest things I have seen on a baseball field.

Typical Farnsworth to become a team's closer, only to take himself out of action with an idiotic move. Guess there wasn't a fan around the clubhouse that he could kick.
