7/15 Other Games Thread.

I thought I'd go ahead and get this thing started. The Phillies and Marlins square off at 6:05 CT. The Braves take on the Mets at 6:10 CT. The Astros and Cardinals go at it at 7:10 CT. I think that covers everyone we should be focused on.

no way I want the astros to sweep and us to sweep pittsburgh. I would love to make the division an option again. That would get us within 9 with what, 16 to play against the cards?

Huh? We just swept the Marlins, yet they're better than us?

And Vance, I agree with you. A sweep of the Stros is the best thing for the Cubs. But I wont root for the Cardinals to win. I just can't do it.

i agree with Vance, i think i'm going to somehow root for the Cardinals as well. I really don't think that we have a chance with the division. I know we play the Cards 14 more times, but St. Louis is by far and beyond the best team in the NL.

Braves had runners at 1st and 3rd with only 1 out in the 5th, but Smoltz GIDP. Still tied at 1, middle of the 5th.

Ha ha. The Red Sox are obliterating the Yankees 12-1 in the 4th inning. Redding and May pitched a combined total of 3 2/3 innings giving up 12 earned runs.

Cubs blow chunks. Anyone can beat the Bucco's.

And this might be the first time in a long time I'm rooting for the Cards. We got no shot at catching them. I'd like to leapfrog over the Astros though.

Sosa just legged out an infield single and got an RBI to increase the Orioles lead to 3-0.

Astros on 1st & 2nd with 2 outs in a 2-2 game.

Cards should have been out of the inning but a terrible call on a steal at 2nd kept the inning going.
