Speaking of auction, everyone can feel free to drop some cash if you'd like for the auction tomorrow in Jackson. We're going to try to buy the night in hte broadcast booth. If someone needs something to buy I have a list if anyone is interested.

abuck, if you'd like they are auctioning off Hill's cleats in Jackson tomorrow!

are they signed?

they had an auto'ed hill bat for auction tonight, and i was going to get the jersey and the bat, but then my $125 bid for the jersey suddenly jumped to $200. :-k

i put the $125 bid in during like the 5th inning, and it stood until the top of the 7th (auctions ended at the end of the 7th). this guy had bid $135, so i topped it with $150. then he looked at me and said, "if you want this, you're gonna have to bid pretty high" and put down $175. i'm thinking, oh crap, this dude's gonna drop five hundo on this. then i wrote down $200 and he bailed. weak! talked all that crap like he was in it for the long haul, then i sent him walking after ONE more bid!

So what are you trying to say??? This could be your best NSBB auction yet ;)

umm....no. i had to sit in some hot freaking weather to get this thing...i earned it!

i'll try and get a scan up of it tomorrow.

by the way, this jersey stinks BAD. i have it hanging in my den, and it's smelling up the whole room...any ideas on how to tame this beast? washing it is not an option since it's signed.

Yes they are signed. They are having an unreal auction tomorrow night. They have all kinds of stuff from the Jaxx and the Cubs. I've put in a request for game used baseballs, lineup cards, etc.

$200 is cheap for that! That's cheaper than the Murton jersey Vance got!

dubois (who is #44...not a fan of that) and kelton's jerseys went for quite a bit too...both were around $125 when i looked in the fifth inning. they had dubois, wellemeyer and kelton bats as well. they had much better stuff at the winter fan fest auction.

if i'd have missed out on the jersey tonight, i'd have you try and nab me those cleats...but i think i've spent enough on a guy who has less than 10 major league innings under his belt. :D

Low prices! Pie's jersey went for around $350 and he didn't even play in it!

I just loaded a page in baseball discussions of some stuff I'm willing to sale to make some cash for NSBB. Feel free to take a look!

Would something like Febreeze work? I don't know if it would damage the jersey/autograph in any way, but it would probably get rid of the smell.

The recap from last night's Daytona game:

CUBS OUTLAST REDS IN MARATHON OPENER 8-6

Daytona Weathered An Hour Long Rain Delay And 12 Grueling Innings To Survive The Series Opener in Sarasota

By Bo Fulginiti

SARASOTA, Fla—Friday night’s series opener at Ed Smith Stadium was such a marathon that it later became known as Saturday morning’s series opener.

In Game 1 of a four-game set between the Daytona Cubs and Sarasota Reds, the two teams swapped leads numerous times and then had to sit through a long rain delay before the Cubs outlasted the Reds in the 12-inning classic by a final score of 8-6.

Daytona overcame an early 4-0 deficit after two innings as they relied a total of four team homeruns including blasts from Jake Fox, Scott Moore, Robinson Chirinos, and Brian Dopirak.

Both squads used a combined ten pitchers while they recorded 31 total hits before the Cubs landed the knockout punch with a two-run shot in the 12th from Brian Dopirak off of Reds reliever Eric Lohse (6-3) to seal the deal.

Cubs righty Randy Wells made the spot start and went four innings while giving up four runs on seven hits for the no-decision. Daytona closer Nate Sevier (3-0) pitched the final two innings and struck out four to record his third win of the season for the Cubs.

With the win the Cubs improved to 7-15 on the second half of the season, while the Reds dropped to 9-12.

After a lengthy downpour on Saturday afternoon, Game 2 of the series in Sarasota had to be postponed and will be rescheduled as part of a double-header of two-seven games beginning at 5:00 p.m. EST.

The Cubs and Reds will reconvene on Sunday afternoon as the Cubs send lefty J.R. Mathes (6-5, 3.27 ERA) to the mound to face Reds right-hander Calvin Medlock (4-2, 2.88 ERA).

First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m. EST.

thanks for the concern, guys.

the smell has improved. i just hung it up to let it air out over the weekend, and it's much better now. if you get up close to it, you can smell it, but since i don't do that too often, i can live with it.
