what's up with the rampant negativity?

sorry for asking...new to the board.

Ongoing joke. Once Roast started the Game Threads saying that the team is awful, they started winning. Not wanting to mess with a good thing, he continued to do so, and others joined in.

haha. Superstitious, eh?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm used to treating them like the losers they are, but it was pretty weird not seeing anyone stick up for them..

I'll be sure to keep that tradition going.

Superstition is what got the game thread starter thing going. Game threads and their starter are a quirky lot.

Forcing detainees at Gitmo to watch tapes of Cub games would be in violation of the Geneva Convention....

.....

because it would be torture, see.

*crickets*

Oh, shut up.

Well something's gotta give...the Cubs are like 10-2 the last 3 years when I have been in attendance..but on the other hand...they really, really, really suck.

There has to be a pun somewhere in the pitchers of this game's names.... I'm thinking Fogg-obscuring-view-of-Wood type thing. However, it'll take someone funnier than me to think of it, and then it can appear on the MLB.com wrap tonight. Or tomorrow. Depends where you are. Its already tomorrow in New Zealand.

 Sorry. That should all have been an inner monologue

Today's lineup as heard on The Score:

1. Jerry Hairston

2. Todd Walker

3. Derrek Lee

4. Jeromy Burnitz

5. Aramis Ramirez

6. Todd Hollandsworth

7. Neifi Perez

8. Michael Barrett

9. Kerry Wood

Adam Greenberg has been placed on the 15-day DL and the Cubs recalled Ben Grieve to take his spot on the 25 man roster.

Cubs suck! Win another one and prove me wrong...

Ugh. Would rather see Barrett at the 6th spot and Hollansworth at the 8th.

Still, not too shabby I guess. *shrug*

Anybody want to start a search party for Cedeno. I think Dusty may have made him his personal chef :(

Nice to see he was called up so he could get experience in getting splinters in his butt.

The only way this gets fixed is if Hendry takes the Neifi option away from Dusty and releases him.

I liked it better when Barrett was batting fourth and Burnitz was batting like 6th. I thought Barrett did great up in the lineup I hate to see him dropped down again. I would like to see lineup like this:

Hairston

Walker

Lee

ARam

Barrett

Burnitz

Holla

Neifi

Wood

Or should we switch Wood and Neifi :P

When Barrett batted higher, he took too many walks and clogged the bases. We can't have that!

I know, and it seemed he rubbed off on Burnitz also, darn those cathcers and their plate discipline.

Neifi still starting really pisses me off.

I feel the same way, but at least it's not on the top of the line-up, thankfully.

When is the last time Ronny got an at-bat. We wouldn't want "Holly" sitting for a whole damn week, but Ronny is ok not getting an at-bat for weeks at a time. I feel like Macias has more at-bats than Ronny since being called up, but I could be wrong.

No, you're right. Macias has had more.
