How much has his injury impacted this complete bullpen collapse? Obviously he has no impact on home runs, what he has control over is limiting baserunners  and consequently multi run home runs. Their inability to win on the margins can be the difference between an extra out here and there in addition to missing Nico’s gold glove defense at second base.

Am I being a prisoner of the moment?

I think you are right. The defense masked the terrible pitching the Cubs have had. They are still good defensively, but with Dansby at SS and Nico at 2nd they hide a lot of bad pitching. I can confidently say the team has lost at least 2 games, and possibly even more, they would have won with Dansby at SS.

I don't know how much it's impacted.  Probably, more than I think, because I know the Cubs started losing more games, after he got hurt.  And, the bullpen started sucking a lot more.  There are at least a few games that we should've won, and Dansby probably could've helped to win some of those games.  Yeah, I miss him.

Oh, also, Nico stopped hitting for a while, after he moved to SS.  He started hitting again in the last few games.  I guess he's getting used to the position, and started paying more attention to his offense.

Oh, one last thing.  I really appreciate the guys like Nico, Bregman and Busch staying healthy.  I feel that more, because of Dansby's injury.

There were a few games where Nico and Ramirez were simply not turning double plays that Dansby and Nico would routinely make. There are also some grounders that Nico didn't get to that Dansby would have
