Nothing to do with coaching but I was probably most into the NBA in that 2005-2012 range and I remember tracking Splitter in the Euroleagues when everyone was wondering when he would join the Spurs.  If I'm remembering correctly, people had really high expectations for him and thought of him as a potential superstar.  His career didn't hit anywhere near those expectations but solid career.  Kind of crazy he's our coach now, time moves way too fast.

As someone on another site said, "he's the coach that is going to get fired as soon as the Bulls are ready to contend ." I'm not that cynical BUT I refused to be excited or not about a coaching hire.

What is the magical future you speak of?  I will believe it when I see it.

I refuse to get excited about any coaching hire, sure. Any. There's only clear bad hires, and he isn't.

Right. This seems like a credible, not horrible hire. Well done. Now, put some talent around Giddey and Buzelis.

I was listening to Bill Simmons' latest podcast and he suggested the Bulls should trade 4 and 15 to trade up with Memphis for 3.  How about horsefeathers NO?!  This all stems from Peterson maybe being difficult about going to Memphis, which certainly isn't Chicago's problem.

There will be lots of good options at 15; ridiculous idea.

If anything they should be keeping 4 and trying to trade back up into the top 10 to grab any of Wagler, Acuff, Brown, Flemings or Aday.

15 just to swap picks is such a stupid suggestions that Bill Simmons should have apologize immediately after making the trade idea.

DP is already a headache. He only wants Washington. It is going to suck for him when Utah drafts him.

So just a bit of mental masturbation not stemmed from reality, but man if the pulls got Wilson at 4, traded up to roughly 9 or 10 to grab Aday, then grabbed Austin Reeves in FA that is a team with a really high upside.

Aday/Wilson/Reeves/Buzelis/Giddey would be super exciting.

Listening to the guys on the Score this morning, as well as Kendall Gill, nearly unanimously say that if Boozer is the only one left at #4 that they'd take Acuff and I just don't get it. Yeah, the dude is going to score, no doubts about that, but he is horrific defensively and adding him to a team that is already bottom three in the league defensively seems like an awful idea. Also, even as someone who isn't a huge Boozer fan, his "limited upside" is getting so drastically over sold. Yeah, he's probably not a guy who is going to ever be the #1 on team with legit title aspirations, but he absolutely can be a #2 and his floor is basically solid NBA player.

I think Boozer is going to be awesome.  In fact I have seen him creeping up on draft boards; I think I'd take him over Peterson, not sure about over Wilson though.

Thank god Kendall Gill isn't making this choice.

I'd definitely take Boozer over Peterson.  I think, especially in basketball where one guy can have so much impact on results, that players who are "winners" have a leg up on other guys.  Jalen Brunson and the whole UConn crew on the Knicks is a good example.  Wagler won in high school and look what happened at Illinois last year.  It's not the end all be all, but I definitely think it's a not insignificant factor in what kind of results you see in terms of winning.

This would be my dream scenario for the Bulls draft:

1) Utah and Memphis get suckered in by measurables and go with Peterson and Wilson over Boozer.

2) Bulls draft Boozer

3) Clippers get suckered in by measurables and take Brown at 5

4) Bulls trade back into top 8 and get Wagler for something like #15, a 2028 top-4 protected pick, and Essengue

Bulls end up with 2 players who dominated college last year that complement each other and Buzelis, and the rebuild can begin anew.

If BG takes Acuff over Boozer in this scenario, he better be fired.
