does anybody remember the last time one of our relievers did not allow any inherited runners to score?

the guy couldn't manage the bullpen if his life depended on it.

which by the way can be said for Farnsworth as well. If Farns were still a Cub, he'd be ready to hit his usual second half freefall due to overuse in April and May.

Yeah, but how can you blame Dusty for that last inning? Most people were hoping it was Novoa and not Remlinger. It was, and he still gave up a hit. Sometimes you just have to face the facts and realize that outside of Dempster and to some extent Wuertz, there really isn't a whole lot of reliability in that bullpen.

Lee's not going to produce every time, but I'd rather give him 8 chances than 2. Putting our worst two OBP guys in front of Lee is moronic.

Baseball malpractice is what it is. With all due respect to people that say Dusty is even an average manager, his continued lineups of this nature say otherwise. It may be one small aspect of the game, but it is a hugely significant one. He has wasted three months of the most potent bat in the league. Does that sound like something an average manager would do?

Baker has served his purpose thus far this year. he kept morale up and the team playing hard through the tough times suffered due to injury. the horses are now back. his terrible onfield managing will definitely hurt the Cubs more than his clubhouse management will help them from here on out. to hell with the OF Hendry. your primary search right now should be for a new manager.

Walker should be in the 2 hole.

No wonder you're not a manager. That's the silliest thing I've ever heard. He's got to bat lower to protect people.

Found these numbers while looking over some stats just now...

Neif's OBP in May was .283 and in June it was .248. That's pathetic for any hitter, but especially for a guy hitting first or second.

Corey's OBP in May was .311 and in June it was .211. Yes, .211.

Hey Dusty, you should keep those guys at the top of the order. Freakin idiot.

Jim Leyland wants to manage again.

I want Jim Leyland. he could smoke his cigs and then blow smoke in the faces of the bench players.

Baker IS an idiot and overrated as a manager. It's that simple.

Macias's new role could be "lighter boy."

I keep having to emphasize that giving Neifi's splits for June does a disservice to his suckitude. check the stats since the return from California.

Pat says Kenny Rogers got 20 games. 4 starts. Plus a fine. Not too bad.

Holy Crap.

Not remotely justifying Kenny's actions, but that butt weasel of a camera man looks and talks like a typical money grubbing plaintiff.

Yeah, if people bitch about Dusty abusing pitchers, wait til Jim Leyland comes walking through the clubhouse doors. He seemed to be an annual leader in the BP Pitcher Abuse Points statistic, including in one year when he had 4 rookies on his starting staff.

13 for 87 with 2 walks... wow. Those numbers sure do warrant him batting at the top of the order, don't they?

so it would be the equivalent of Bobby Knight having Scott May play point guard? Yeah that's average.

So you're comparing the '05 Cubs to the greatest college basketball team of all time?
