The old school blue jerseys or just the current Cubs alt?

I was hoping for old school but the Cubs official account just tweeted and it's essentially just the current Cubs alt. Maybe with a retro logo on the sleeve? Not sure, certainly not a uniform guy.

Doesn’t show the front but it looks old school to me. Still has the Motorola patch, of course, but seemed like the early 80s beyond that.

Yeah sorry. Again, not the jersey guy. In my head I was picturing/hoping for the baby blue ones. Agreed these could the older ones.

I’m not sure Sandberg ever played in the pinstripe baby blues. I think they had stopped wearing them before he arrived.

I was thinking of the v-neck pullover from the 80s when I mentioned old-school.

They don’t show the front, but the back of the jersey looks like those.

Pretty sure he wore the baby blue with the pinstripes plenty

Last season the Cubs wore those uniforms was 1981. First season for Sandberg on the Cubs was 1982.

I have already made a post about this on my social media accounts, but this hit me hard. Ryno was my all-time favorite player. I remember the first time I got his autograph in person. My only trip to Cooperstown was to watch his HoF induction. On the Monday following, one of the coolest moments of my life was when I was selected to ask him a question on an ESPN broadcast. I tried to name my son after him, but my wife wouldn;t agree.  I am not usually affected by celebrity deaths or athlete deaths, even of those who I really enjoyed watching etc...but this one hit.

First thing I did when I got a real job was run to eBay and buy the Ryno tops rookie I obsessed over as a kid

Ryno gone way too soon. Was my undisputed fav player growing up. Glad Cubs gave him such great tributes

I had that card as a kid.  I think I bought it at a flea market for like $20 or $30, which at the time was a really expensive card.  Then I mailed it in for an autograph and never saw it again. I was devastated.  Knowing what I know now about Sandberg, I'm sure it never even got to him.  I eventually ended up getting the slightly cheaper Fleer rookie card as a replacement, and only recently got another Topps card when my wife bought one for me as a gift a few years ago.
