Happ by month:

- April: OPS .722

- May: OPS .684

- June: OPS .779

- July: OPS .502

He's been a turd for almost a calendar month after being exceedingly "meh" for the first 3

He's at a 101 OPS+ for the year, so as statistically "average" as you're going to get. It would take a remarkable hot streak in August/September to get him anywhere close to a 120

Yep, I brought those numbers up before and got shot down because I put an asterisk of his 9 HRs to indicate that why his Slg and OPS was up,  But his Avg. and OB that month went down again from previous months.

He's not having the typical Happ season like most are trying to dictate for him, hes just been plain bad this year.

Serious question. Is this the first season you are following the Cubs? Have you not seen Happ EVERY YEAR? First, you are exaggerating his season. He has not been good for a good portion of it, but he hasn’t been awful with the exception of 2 weeks. He has had one stretch where he was very good, but that didn’t last too long. As he does every season, I would guess he will have another good streak. I don’t know when. But in the end he will probably finish at that OPS+ between 111 and 120, as he has done for several years. That, with his defense in left make him a fine player. Sure, I would rather he go all season between 111 and 120 OPS, but that is not who he is.

Serious reply see the numbers Derwood posted, I believe they suggest I'm not exaggerating his season.  And, given those numbers, moving him to the 8th spot isn't that bad of an idea.  OPS+ between 111 and 120?  Going to take a long heater for such numbers to materialize, don't think we've seen any positive evidence towards that end.  Look at the post in today' game thread, given he's played 93 games, I'd say without exaggeration that qualifies as really bad for nearly 2/3 of his season.
