The bullpen has been better, but why are we using ERA to measure relievers?  Often these guys are tasked with keeping inherited runners from scoring.  A difficult task, but a critical one that ERA doesn't measure.

You are right that era could not capture runs they gave up coming into an inning with guys on base. But honestly, I think that may have happened less than a handful of times. Seems most times cubs starters finish an inning and the pen takes over from there. I have seen a pen arm come in to replace another pen arm, but that would show on the overall pen era.

Fair point, there are definitely flaws there. I did take a glance at that group during that span. and saw 2 inherited scores out of 26 inherited runners. I did notice that inherited runners do not include runners on 2nd in extras, so there's a few more runs given up there.

Nice Pearson's been doing a lot better lately.  And with him being more of a veteran a few weeks of strong pitching is easier to buy into.  He also has gone 2 IP quite often, so especially with so few off days in this stretch of the schedule even if he sucks he can give you a little length.

Michael Fulmer is back.  I expect the fanbase to be totally chill and normal about this

Has to be a 3 day audition for the rest of the league right?  I have to imagine he's gone as soon as Shota is activated on Thursday.

Probably that yeah.  Though if Horton or Brown get sent to Iowa he could stick around a bit longer.  Hodge seems likely to get a couple more outings at Iowa so Fulmer might have a week+ to try and show something.

He’s a Cub and I think we all want him to perform well, but I can’t imagine anyone is excited about this return.

Not shocking, I assumed he would last a few more days but him making it through the weekend was always in doubt
