Ron Potesta, the voice of the Diamond Jaxx, has graciously agreed to be a part of a Question and Answer session here at NSBB! Once the Q & A session with Matt Murton has completed, we will begin taking questions/comments to be forwarded to the Jaxx broadcaster to be answered.

Many of you have been listening to Ron over the online broadcasts and have been able to hear just how great of a broadcaster he is. Very soon you will have an opportunity to not only let Ron know how great of a job he is doing, but you will have an opportunity to ask questions. Once the Q & A session begins, it will be in a new thread.

Thanks Ron! Keep up the great work!

Ron gave a shoutout to NSBB during the DJaxx online broadcast today.

Paraphrased, he said something to the extent of: "I want to say hi to the people at NorthSideBaseball.com, a great place to check out Cubs minor league information. I've been talking to some of the great people there the past one and a half days." He went on to talk about how many Cubs fans there are around the country and saying it was a great decision on WT's part to go with online broadcasts.

And Ron also rules for answering any DJaxx questions I have when I e-mail him. :D

Cubway has been a member here since February. I don't think he's Potesta.

I missed it myself, but so did Len and Bob on the WGN telecast tonight. This must be NSBB Day. :D

How can you tell if someone is a good announcer? Just pull up some other games on the internet, both major and minor, and compare. Then you would have to say the Ron Potesta is one of the best.

Ahh, I did not see that.

Every time I see Cubway's name, I feel compelled to try to order a 6 inch meatball with cheese, onions and green peppers on wheat.

Yeah, it's always good to stay healthy by ordering that wheat bread.

Do you get a diet coke with your Big Macs?

I have never eaten a Big Mac. True story.

Cubway wishes that Cubway really did equal Ron Potesta.

Neither have I. I admit that I once ordered a Big Mac when they had the Indiana Jones promotion. I threw the sandwich away, though. I just wanted the movie and the fries.

Never had a Big Mac either, but I'll eat the heck out of a QP with cheese.

Same here, but double the QP.

What is the attraction about the Big Mac? I'd only get mine with the burger (still ugh), cheese (meh), and the bread.

Seems kind of a waste.

How ironic is it that the forum starts with everybody talking about "giving love" for me and goes into talking about Big Macs, another love of mine. I feel my arteries clogging everytime I eat one of those burgers.

Ah. The complexities of the evolution of a thread.

Never met a McD burger I didn't like. I even liked the vegetarian burger they used to sell.

Never had a Filet-O-Fish, though.

I met Ron at tonight's Djaxx-Carolina game. I got there about an hour before the game started (I left earlier than Saturday because I barely got to that game in time due to a major traffic jam caused by construction; tonight there was no delay). Somebody saw my Cubs cap and commented on it. Based on him mentioning it (I didn't know who it was at the time) I said something like "I take it you're a Cub fan too," and he mentioned that he was the Jaxx radio broadcaster. When he said that (after impressing him with the fact I knew his name :D ) I mentioned NSBB. We chatted a minute or so before he had to get up to the booth for the broadcast.

This thread needs a bump!

I had a great night at the park tonight for the JDRF auction. My ID for the auction was NSBB.com There were so many people that talked to me about the site! They said that they had heard Ron talking about the site and decided to take a look at it!

Thanks Ron, I really appreciate the kind things you've said about the site to the people on the air, to the people in Jackson and to Bo down in Daytona. We look forward to doing a broadcast with you! Take care,
