Before Pressly struck out JC, he shook off Amaya multiple times. Amaya went to the mound and Ryan told him he wanted to throw fastball in. After he got the K, you could read Ryan’s lips clearly saying “I horsefeathers told you.” Cronenworth was definitely not expecting fastball in there.

Hope Ryan settles in. It’s been a rollercoaster every time he’s stepped on the mound so far. That was pretty cool though.

So is PCA going to act like a toddler and throw his helmet and/or bat every single time he strikes out or gets thrown out on a close play at 1B?

I don't like Ryan Pressly in this role.

If he pitches in the 8th or the 9th does it really matter?

Pressley sucks. Its obvious to everyone Hodge should be closing yet we will probably still trot Pressley out there for another two months before they make the change.

I think he's fine, but you can't demote closers anyways it hurts their feewings.

No, not really.  I'd like to see him in match-up situations in the 6th or 7th.

Also also it’s less “hurt feewings” than these often reactionary demotions are used as leveragez (what isn’t) to materially impact. This is no different from how if you got demoted you’d whine because it means less money moving forward pretty much regardless. Not even touching on your insulting the “hurt feewings” is a hypothetical rxn to a hypothetical rxn to a hypothetical axn, the kind of “critical” “thinking” this insultingly backwards so-ciety produces

Edit: The wild part is this guy’s routinely been a key part of deep playoff runs while Cubslandia cheered on half decade rebuild 2.0, and we’re 5 innings in

Pressly sulked and helped run himself out of town when the Astros made the team better by signing Hader who they had pitch the 9th.  Guess he cares more about his ego and potential pocketbook than winning.  Babysitting egos should not be a part of a managers job.

This is, no joke, 95% of a manager's job.
