I just want to see how my new sig looks, it fits very well with the topic at hand

Maybe you should track the errors to hits ratio for Macias...

Macias' most important stat: ROSTER SPOTS CONSUMED = 1

This number must be reduced.

THE MACIAS WATCH

AVERAGE = .083 (1/12), OBP = .083, RBI = 0

Errors to hits ratio = 1:1

Roster spots consumed = 1

Isn't he 1 for 13 now?

absolutely no reason to double switch with Macias instead of Jason or Hairston. What the hell.

Macias is a defensive upgrade to Dubois at least (covers way more ground and showed, amazingly, that at least he has an accurate arm last night) but definitely not Hairston so bad move by Dusty.

Dusty must've brought him in for his speed to play no doubles defense, but nice bobble.

Macias may even have more time in the OF thruout his career than Hairston for all I know, but Dusty should have been ecstatic that Macias-as-defensive-upgrade worked so well last night and not been greedy and done it twice in a row. Dusty pulled that string one too many times - half-amazing it even worked once. Sadly, Hendry will not cut the cord.

Macias may come thru one in a great while, but he will no doubt level out back to overally lousiness very quickly.

Many of us here stated long before opening day that the glut of outfielders and the acquisitions of Neifi and Hairston make Macias redundant and a waste of a roster spot. We could trade Hairston tomorrow and Macias would still be unneeded. Unfortunately Macias will probably not be cut right away because Hendry blew $825K of the Trib's money on him and it would be too embarrassing to cut him this soon. If Macias had been signed for the league minimum, and I'm pretty sure he could have been, then he would already be halfway out the door.

You're kidding me, right? Macias can play multiple positions, but he plays them poorly. He may have more speed than Dubois, but he doesn't get good reads or jumps on balls hit to the outfield. Dubois also has a much better arm than Macias.

Dubois is pretty slow in the OF from what I've seen. As for his takes on balls his way he's no Burnitz thus far either. Dubois coudn't have gunned out that runner at home much better than Macias did the other night.

Doesnt Macias have closer experience as well ?

Absolutely. When he comes in to the game, the should flash "Game Over" on the scoreboard, like they do in LA for Gagne, because when we see Macias, its game over for the Cubs chances of rallying.

Was there any logic to double switching before the bottom of the 8th began? Rusch was dealing in the 7th. Why not leave him in, let him face Randa and the lefty Dunn (since Dusty loves the lefty-lefty match-up so much) and then double switch in a righty to face Pena?

Am I missing something? Why rush to get Rusch out of the game? Especially for a guy who hasn't thrown strikes all year?

The bottom line in this game is that Kerry and especially Ice blew it, but why oh why did Dusty not get someone up in the 8th after Ice showed absolutely no control?
