Thank god. I don’t hate myself for staying up late to watch this when my children will be waking me up in 6 hours.

Man we needed that so bad. Good job picking up Seiya.

I have to admit I turned it off and put on a movie. Didn’t want to deal with another frustrating game on my Saturday night. Glad I thought to check the score on my phone and saw that there was 1 out in the 9th.

I obviously wouldn’t go as far as to say the Cubs offense is hot now, but it’s definitely been a lot closer to expectations lately which is great to see. We know that this team is much better offensively than they were the last couple of weeks and that slumps don’t last forever but man it was starting to feel like a tailspin that would never end.

new game starts in less than 13 hours!

Even though weve had multiple walk offs and dominant pitching performances I think this was the W of the year so far. It is extremely rare that a player makes a 3 run error and then comes back in the bottom of the inning and crushes a game-tying grand slam. Obviously that wasn't enough but the game really could have been another inexplicable disappointment. Then we got some good relief pitching and a vital player in a deep slump hit the go-ahead blast. Of course I'll be beside myself again if we lose tomorrow but this should be one of those games that gives the team a lot of confidence, a galvanizing win. Hopefully it is.

Has there been any post game report about Greene's velo?  I know the circumstances with the rain delay were weird but I'd be DEFCON 1 if I was a Reds fan this mornimg.

I believe he was hitting 97-99 regularly after the first couple innings. Probably just not fully warmed up, or rightfully so, couldn’t get a good grip.

Bote coming up today

I saw that from Lauren Wisdom too. Not sure what the corresponding move would be. Hopefully no injury. If it’s Madrigal DFA, I’m not sure what his role would be. He’s probably not a defensive upgrade to Morel at this point. RH pinch hitter for our terrible catchers? Isn’t that Wisdom? I’d probably rather just have Mastro, who can at least provide value as a baserunner.

Has to be Madrigal going down

He couldn't just go down, he'd have to be DFA to open up a spot on the 40 man (unless there's a vacancy on it I'm unaware of)

Adbert or Almonte to the 60 day.

I just learned Madrigal has options. I had no idea.

It sounds like there’s a pretty high likelihood that one of the rehabbing pitchers is hurt enough to push to the 60 man. But also madrigal, fine, whatever.

More interested in what they want bote doing. The first base/outfield/DH platoon is pretty crowded with PCA and Happ seemingly locked in and seiya looking real shaky, so not sure it’s the best time to give up on morel at third. Can’t imagine a lot of situations where you’d rather have bote hitting over wisdom. Also could be an injury, who knows.
