What if they move someone to the 60 like they do sometimes

Goofy question by me: is there a limitation for how many players can be on the 60 at the same time?

Does not change this. That would open up a 40-man roster spot for someone, but wouldn't change the clock here as the player being transferred would already be on the IL. Now, if a current player goes from the 26-man directly to the 60-day, then yes, Luke Little or Hayden Wesneski would be eligible, but it has to be a 26-man roster player entering the IL for their clock to not matter.

That is just to put someone on the 40 man. That isn’t the issue here. I think 2 guys have to go on the IL. Hope He sticks is one of them and really hope Lieter isn’t one.

That right, that happens when they need to add to the 40 in order to bring up.

I bet the Red Sox are already on the phone about Cooper. I do feel bad for him as he played fine, but this is getting us closer to a bench that actually has some upside and can play matchups better. I just wish they would get out of the dumpster diving mindset in the off-season and quit spending money on vets who clearly are toast or provide no upside.

Are we sure Little returning, have seen anything except for when he returned for Saturday and then sent back Sunday...

Jesse Rogers said it on ESPN 1000. "A slew" of roster moves. Nothing definitive yet from the Cubs.

Cubs are improving, because we are dumping a better quality jag this year

Why is that? Hasn’t he been down long enough?

I think it's been like 5-6 days.  Maybe Kyle to the IL?

If theyre bringing up both Wesneski and Little, and need to have 2 ILs, then one has to be Hendricks and im guessing the other might be Nevis.

This is very true. Do so earlier too. Look how long Hosmer stuck around. And he was way worse than Cooper. Mancini stayed even longer and he was worse than Cooper. A quick move tells me they actually believe this team can be good and are not going to wait around like they did last year. Good to see.

Per Rogers: Hendricks to IL.

Smyly to IL.

Little, Mervis, Wes up.

Wonder what happened with Smyly.. I know it says hip impingement, but what exactly is that and when did it happen?

Two of the worst arms off the MLB roster , wish they had taken Hendricks out sooner. If they miss the playoffs again by a game or two then this will be a really bad look

I didnt even realize how bad Smyly was doing.  ER allowed in 5 of his last 7 appearances, and in 1 of the other 2 appearances, he pitched 0.0 IP and allowed an unearned run.

He was actually showing signs of being hurt his last outing. Training staff was working with him in the dugout as he was twisting his back/hips. Shockingly, he came back out for another inning after that...

That’s right. I forgot about that.
