I doubt it, as Pat has always seemed quite happy with his radio gig, and Cubs brass probably wanted a big name for the Marquee Network, which Boog is as far as baseball announcers go

I'm probably in the minority, but I think Pat Hughes is just so-so.  I really don't hear a lot of him anymore as I don't live in the Chicago area.  But I don't really find him all that interesting.  He's good, but not great.

There was a point during the Santo days where he embraced the whole "Pat and Ron shows" schtick and was never the same.

A lot of people seem to like it, but it's not for me

Ron is a perfectly decent radio color guy and he and Pat have great chemistry. And Zach is also a professionally employed radio broadcaster.
