2019 - The only major league contract we signed was Descalso and we spent the entire offseason deluded into believing the Cubs were a player for Bryce Harper even though zero reports linked us to him and several local guys reported we weren’t in contact with him at all.

What about the lockout offseason? That was pretty awful, too.

I knew I was missing one lol

It's the Harper offseason of '18-'19 and it's not close.  They picked up Hamels' option, and then it was like the Padme/Anakin meme with us all thinking "they wouldn't do that and then literally nothing else, right?"

We still felt good about the roster too.  They won 95 games and would have won a couple mor. and the division if not for the death march.

I was busy being dead, relearning to sit up, stand, walk, etc. during the Harper offseason so this one is pretty easily the slowest offseason for me, especially based on expectations going in.

I must have missed the Chit-Chat thread during that time, I had no idea you went through this but just went way back in your post history to read about it.  That's scary.  Any issues since then after recovery?

Oh horsefeathers man, I had no idea. One time I got hit in the elbow and it really hurt, so I get it....(just kidding - for real). Congrats on being entirely more badass than me and doing all of that; literally can't imagine.

Some scars, a partially numb toe and some gray hair appearing in the facial fuzz,  but nothing besides that. I got about as lucky as is medically possible.
