Lots of 93s and 94s in Wicks' outing especially the back half including last pitch, 91-94 throughout with it's fair share of whiffs. Didn't have the breaking stuff at all today, seems like he threw more curves than sliders today. Sitting more 93-94 this summer doesn't feel like a stretch fwtw, didn't skip leg day or anything

At least this early I'd say BJ Murray's quietly been one of the better and more improved hitters in the org. His 2022 was more prospect than not but I didn't have high expectations at all so maybe I'm just pleasantly surprised. Might be a pixie dust guy

Lance Brozdowski has talked a few times about how big it would be for Wicks if he could sit at 94. Would be great to get there this season - he sat at 92 last season.

Horton so far: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 34 pitches-24 strikes. I assume he'll come back out for the 4th.

Horton's final line: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 49-34 pitches-strikes.

His season now: 10.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 14 K

It's crazy, but I thought he actually could have thrown FEWER strikes tonight.  He had at least a couple guys down 0-2 or 1-2 in the count and threw the ball over the plate.  It was all weak contact, but that likely won't be the case as he climbs the ladder.

Luke Little pitched into the 5th inning for the first time professionally tonight (his previous career high had been 4 IP a few times).

Likely the final line: 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K

I’m all in on Little being an average or better major league pitcher (if he stays healthy). His profile and stuff as a tall lefty plays really well, even if he ends up a reliever which is probably more likely than not.

Welcome aboard and I completely agree. Especially when you can assume his stuff will tick up out of the pen.

Alcántara with 3 doubles today

I’m calling it now. He and PCA will finish this season in AAA.

Is there any point to keeping him in Myrtle Beach any longer?  Low-A doesn't seem to be any challenge whatsoever.

He runs like my German short haired pointer puppy. Barely in control of his limbs. It's awsome.

I think it’s all about waiting for the weather in the MWL to warm up. It sounds like he was just as good in minor league camp as he is now.
