I think I was next in the order. Is there a certain time before the game started that I needed to have the game thread posted by??

No, I was just in a hurry this morning. You want me to delete this or do you want to start the next thread?

Your good!  Your post was probably more creative than mine anyway. 😁

Again, my apologies. I’m a real scatterbrain right now - part of the reason I’m taking a breather.

Either way, you can have tomorrow’s game vs Oakland. Good chance of running several game threads in that series. 🙂

Swanson struck out, now 8 in last 10 plate appearances. I didn’t realize he was a streaky hitter, I hate that. Reminds me of the feast or famine Cubs offenses of old. I of course didn’t expect him to hit .450 this season but I’d prefer a player who doesn’t have such large peaks and valleys.

The good news is that he still brings value with his defense when slumping

I know Sutcliffe has been doing this whole series but any idea why?  Did they ever say?

Not really sure but Marquee always does this on occasion. Not sure if JD just has extra days off built into his contract or if the Cubs just really love having random color guys come in on occasion

If I’m counting right, the Cubs had 13 SB attempts in the 11 games coming into this series and now 11 SB attempts in the 2 1/2 games in this series so far.

is it something about the Dodgers?  The warmer weather?  Or have the Cubs decided to run more in general?

I’d be interested to know if there’s something they spotted with the Dodgers running prevention methods, or lack thereof.

Anyone else watching on MLB.com? Those promos for for whatever show Mark Derosa is on make me want to poor Listerine in my eyes every time they're on; so 3-4 times every half inning break.  I now mute as soon as the 3rd out is made each half inning.  I honestly can't take them anymore.  It's like they're aimed at people who have no actual interest in Baseball.

Barnes has been one of the worst at throwing out base stealers I believe. Think Seiya getting caught yesterday was the first CS for him this year.

probably a mix of that, trying to steal extra runs from a great dodgers team, and getting more data on the rise in base stealing success with the new rules

Belli on a 6 game hitting streak now (8-22, 2 HR, 2 2B, 2 BB). Moderate hot streak, good to see. As is seeing Wisdom continuing to crush them
